In that 40km you could have been T-boned, and bounced around the car like a ping pong ball.

I'd say your lucky to just have a fine and a three month breather.

Let me guess, it's the one time you have only ever not had your seatbelt on and you got caught?

Hopefully you will wear it from now on.

don't be so hard on the kid.

bet you have done something as silly before, for example indicate left when turning right or keep your high beams on when passing a vehicle as you couldn't see them over the crest.

i know i have done something similar before.

but we are all still learning and we will never stop learning how to drive given it be an L plater or P Plater or full licensed guy we keep learning.

hope that made sense or im going to regret my drunken rant.... smile

That is unfortunate, but no seatbelt? Cmon ya would need ta be quite foolish! Open door, sit down, close door, start car, seatbelt on, check mirrors, stick it in gear an go. Quite a simple process really :superman:

I'm sorry if that seemed harsh.
It wasn't intended to be.

But seriously, its not something you can really get upset about. And in the scheme of things he got of lightly, for my previously stated reasons.

Sure I've done silly sh!t.
I've also come to grief, and its NOT fun at all.  A sentiment Lance can echo quiet well now.

Hate to be dick. But, you called him a retard.

In your process you've broken the law. You cannot sit in the driver seat of a car with the engine running without your seatbelt engaged.

You would fail your driving test also.

I know, I know, sometimes even I hate me.

Well not totally. You can legally reverse your car without your seat belt on. wink.

Hi,

Not in WA you can't.

You can't even legally be outside your car with the engine running.

Nah thats a fair call, tard was a bit harsh. Im sure the punishment is sufficient without getting called names on the net. I retract "tard" and replace it with "quite foolish". Its just such a simple thing that can save so much pain an suffering why wouldn't it be second nature to put it on?
My "start up procedure", i like the idea of a few seconds of idling while i belt up, check mirrors an stuff, to push a bit of oil round the motor before i take off. Prob doesnt make a lot of difference in the scheme of things but it makes me happy:Dirol:

all comments are fair to be made i dont take any offence i took a couple of minutes out of my day myself to call myself a retard and wonder why i didnt put it on because it is second nature but i had the peas on my lap hahahaha.

but at the end of the day its breaking the law and its the small things that count sometimes so i see it as a fair blow. the only thing i dont understand is how 3 points can be justified?  i got 3 points for doin 35 kms over the limit i see that as much worse than no seatbelt but each to their own.

cheers fellas

ah i dunno i have to look into it im gonna go for a restricted license though to drive to work and back because work is too far away to get dropped off or ride a bike etc and theres no public transport.

i have heard of something like that though where you get just 1 point for 12 months or something.
