looking for info

  Top of Page

Hi to all at ozliberty.
It's great to find a legacy/liberty forum as all the subaru forums over here in the UK seem to be for impreza owners.
I've owned my 94 GTB for just over a year now and have to admit its the best car I've owned by far, and the most fun!
I'm not sure I'd feel the same if I had to pay repair bills though. Being a mechanic makes it bearable but finding information on the twin-turbo setup and the bilstein suspension has proved impossible so far-I'm really hoping that you fellas can help out in this respect.
I have so many questions I don't even know where to start. I paid 1,650 pounds sterling for my car (about 4,000 Australian dollars) on ebay, which was a good price due to the clutch being worn out. How does this compare to the cars value in Australia? Over here I think I could expect to sell it for around 3 grand (7,400 AUD) now that it's in full working order (not that I'd want to!).
It's so great to have practical family transport for my wife and three daughters, with such potential for upsetting other road users who think they are fast.
And nobody knows what it is!

Looking forward to getting to know you guys.
Cheers,
Hugh.

P.S.
Anyone know how to change the 'gx driver'  thingey at the top?

Hey, welcome, sounds like you got a bargain there, I'd imagine it would be worth about $12,000 - $14,000 depending on condition & mods, now all you need to do is ditch the twins & put a proper turbo on it:) Great sleeper over there cos I would imagine they aren't too common. I f you haven't seen this site you can now have some fun with the Vauxhall boys.

Sorry, mate, your link won't work for me.
As for a proper turbo(!), I'm kind of addicted to the split personality thing. It's nice not having to constantly restrain myself and using the primary only is fine for normal driving. Our roads over here are pretty crowded and speed cameras way too common. In the interests of preserving my licence its good to have to make a conscious decision to go over 4000rpm and enjoy some proper boost.
Good to hear from you.
Cheers,
Hugh.

Should work, it's an English forum started by a couple of guys who hate WRX's, try google, some pretty funny stuff on there.

Good, give them heaps, especially that little TWAT Novaracer if he is still there.
p.s. Are there many Gen 1, 2 or 3's over there?

Quite a few of all 3 generations to be found over here. Most that you see on the road are non turbo models though. The Impreza was much more popular in the performance market. Gen 1 turbos were imported officially but all the Gen 2 turbos are Japanese market imports. Gen 3 cars seem to be more popular. I have not come across many people converting standard Legacies to turbo power either. Most Gen 1 & 2 cars seem to be family cars or farmers cars.smile
