Looking at buying Liberty wagon GX 95 model

  Top of Page

Hey, im just looking at buying a 95 Liberty Wagon GX. What are some common problems or problem areas i should look at on the car when inspecting it. Also what would be a decent price for that model? Any advice or help would be appreciated.
Cheers

Welcome to OzLiberty.

It all depends on how well the prospective car has been looked after. The ej22 is known to last a very long time if looked after.

Another thing would be cv joints. they will make a clicking sound as you turn corners at a slower speed if theyre worn out.

If it doesnt have a comprehensive service history, get a full check from a mechanic or the racv. well worth it for a few dollars.

Oh ok thats good to know...

The one that i am looking at has 260,000kms on it and has had a new clutch put in recently. They are asking $4800 would that be a reasonible price? As you said the engines are pretty reliable would it still run good for a while or would its limit be about 300,000kms?

I was at subaru the other day and one of the head mechanics said the ej22's "last forever" unsure if id put a km limit on that though big_smile

$4800 seems pretty pretty good if its tidy overall condition. Service history?

Hey thought id let you know that i ended up buying this car. Has service history and been pretty well looked after few bumps and dints but nothin serious.. It had just had a few repairs carried out about 5 months ago like new clutch, cv's, replace a few bushings, oil filter and wat not... think it all came to about $1400...

I ended up getting the car for $3800 so pretty happy, had it for bout 3 days now and running well just gotta start spending some cash to make it not look like a family car...

have been reading some postings on a few little DIY mods to do such as the snorkus removal, would these be worthwhile in getting a better sound from the car? also do you know of any other DIY or cheap mods to do to get a better sound or slight performance increase...

Cheers
