Longshot maybe

  Top of Page

I no this could be rather a longshot but i was wondering if anyone on here is anyone or knows anyone or of a place that is looking to take on an apprentice spray painter anywhere between sydney and newcastle, I've been visiting alot of places in my area but most of them dont take on apprentices and ones that do already have sufficient. So just wondering if anyone on here could help me out.
Cheers, Zane

Man, i suggest doing a pre-apprenticeship if you can.
Failing that ask for some work expirence to show you are interested. Been there done that mate, its not fun, its damn hard and earns you nothing. But if thats what you want to do put in the yards.

Wyongah is about 25 minutes north of gosford.
And yeah i looked intodoing work experience when i was still at school but the careers advisor wouldnt let me organise it through him because he said it was too close to exams and so that made it alot harder so i never got around to doing it, am yet to look into pre-apprenticeship courses, there was a course at wyong tafe which is the closest to me but it was the apprentices course and wouldnt let me do it without being an apprentice first and thats all i could find out off them.

Walk into  a shop with your best additude on, and say "Hello, im looking to start an apprenticeship, I would like to know if i can do some work expirience with you, so that i may be able to gain some better skills."

I did this 3 or 4 times. Its tedius, but its the only way it will ever happen. The Smash repair industry is very tight at the moment. It always will be.

My best advice would be to learn as much as you can, Listen to everyone. Dont ever think you already know somthing, i know that pisses me off more than anything.

Once you've done some, put it on your resume. Put everylittle thing painting related on there.
