Long time Liberty fan - becoming disgruntled with MY08

Hi All, previously owned a Liberty MY04 and last week purchased the Heritage 2.5i MY08. I have posted a thread in the Gen IV forum regarding an engine noise - a rattle most notable at 2-3000rpm.

Service manager doesn't want to know about it. Subaru have replied to me saying they know of no other complaints regarding the 2.5i MY08 - when I know there is another forum that specifically states otherwise. That forum has apparently taken this issue further and received correspondence that Subaru are aware of it, but aren't willing to do anything.

I have it booked next Monday, but if Subaru and the service manager say that nothing's wrong, then what resolution will I get out of it?

Does anyone have any experience with something similar? Or anya dvice on how to take this further?

Well my immediate place is where I bought it from - Zupps Subaru at Southport. If you have any better ideas then I'd be very willing to try. I've just been reading Liber8ed's posts and would obviously like to avoid a lengthy case like his.

I am on the Gold Coast but could drive as far as Noosa or Toowoomba if needed.

its certainly disheartening..

but as i said in the other post mate, smash em, dont let up, or let them tell you or make you feel as tho the problem is your fault.

hope its only something minor mate and wont give you any grief...

having the same problem with my my08 the noise you are hearing is the clutch setup the other models have a duel mass flywheel/clutch type system as the 08 dosent ...evan with working for subaru i cant get **** out of them
