Fantastic stuff - Love it.....

Hopefully our very own "modification" kings will read it and take something away from it.

I'd love to see the cable ties holding it to the front of his car snap as he brakes hard at a set of lights, and watching his interfooler keep rolling...

Useless bonnet scoop is one thing. A useless intercooler is a whole other ball game...

same deal in my books. a scooped bonnet is meant to serve a purpose...to feed air into the TMIC...

See I would agree on gen 2 and above.

But considering the gen 1 didn't feed a TMIC, all it did was cool the turbo and engine bay, then I think it could pass on a gen 1.

I disagree.

this is why:

Same deal. It was there to serve an ultimate purpose - aid the turbo.

You can't deny with subarus, no matter what kind it is (liberty/forester/impreza) scooped turbo bonnet on an NA car = rice.

I think a scoop on a N/A car could be argued as a firewall cooler, and as such insulating the occupants.

While it may be ricey, it would serve the purpose of cooling the engine bay a little. Having a scoop combined with a CAI would be great I would think, although an air filter that has been heat shielded / boxed correctly would have the same effect.

I'm sure if the millions (billions?) of dollars (yen?) spent by Subaru to have engineers rigorously test and design multiple times the effective heating and cooling of the NA engine and other mechanical componentry, I'm more than certain they would have provided a scoop on the non turbos.

Alas, a completely covered bonnet is given to the NA. Ever since subaru first started making fine vehicles, scooped bonnets were never a feature until the intercooled turbo models came along.

As for the scoop as a source of an CAI. What happens when it rains? Hydrolock?

too funny!!!.. the photoshop stuff is hillarious!

it happens everywhere.... but its good that it does.. i definantly want people to set me straight before i do st0pid things like that on my car..

perfect example is the STI badge on a non-STI thread that someone started.. without forum flaming, he might have done it! (no offence)
