I see the pics in myRIDE - looks great, especially in that colour with those WRX wheels!

And a quick search of used car listings reveals that there are several other auto GTB's....not that having THE only one is something to brag about.

Welcome and enjoy the site! smile

Girlfriend doesn't use left leg. Sticking to slush box. I would like to get some original GTB wheels though.

There's one for sale on RSLC, looks the same but has GTB wheels.

One thing to note with auto GTB's is they are not the same engine or tune as a manual GTB so no forged pistons and 190kw instead of 206. Still a really nice car though, would rather that then my wifes gen 3 outback any day. smile

best looking wagon ever!! gen2 gtb ftw!

this was for private sale on car sales (ad still there atm). it has the original gtb wheels on it there. maybe subaru docklands pinched em or when the guy traded it, he swapped em over?

The guy who sold me the car has 3 of the original wheels. The 4th one was damaged. I just need one more straight one.
Buying the car was a real last minute thing yesterday. I had vaccine with me and he did all the number checks. The guy I bought it off has had it for 5 years and is the only Aus. owner since it was imported through an Albury importer. It needs some detailing but overall its clean. I just really like the original GTB wheels. The damaged one is not fixable.
Thanks for nice words about car though.

Hey thanks man. I couldn't have done it without you. If you are around next week sometime then you can come and have a look at it. Just got to pick it up first. Dave told me that you have one as well. Have you got photos?

+1. I have to say that (IMO) Gen 2's are the best Liberty/Legacy to be playing with at the moment. They look hot with minimal effort and only factory parts, parts are very reasonable and the scope for modification is very broad. They also have very tight build quality and good options, better than some of the later models. Gen 2 FTW.

Mickey has a Gen3!

intersting to note thou that compliance plate says that it is an EJ20H, the engine had smooth cam covers indicating that it would be possibly an R motor. but yes 380cc injectors smaller AFM, slighly de-tuned computer. but it does have the vf20/21 combo that the manual gets?

either way and drives beautifully and there is no VOD! smile
Great buying there 4 sure!

The 380cc std WRX and GT Foz engine is still called EJ20G(STi is EJ20K) and the GT Legacy engine of the same age and spec(like this one) is also still called EJ20H like the earlier GT's. The suffix changes indicating the head design change.
Manuals have 18/19 turbos.
The ecu is also a PCM so it has the AT control built into the same unit.
Once again, not detracting from the car, they are really nice and drive beautifully, just showing the differences between EJ20R and EJ20H of the same year.

No forged pistons, only 206kw engines get forged pistons post 96.

Unfortunately, he does.

Just saw the pics. Looks good. I see you have the RFRB grille, and the RFRB rear wing.
Very tidy and original looking example. Again, congrats!
