Koenigsegg Edition CCXR

  Top of Page

Hi,

1018BHP.

Yes, correct, 1018BHP.

What?

The?

F(_)CK?

One thousand and eighteen brake horsepower.

That, my friends, is one hell of a lot of horses.

Carbon fibre much?

Koenigsegg's CCXR was already one of the most extreme supercars on the planet, but the Swedish automaker decided not to leave well enough alone. Gracing the Koenigsegg in Geneva is the Edition CCXR. Based on the CCXR, the Edition CCXR features a body made completely of carbon fiber and without any paint. The Edition CCXR uses CCXR's twin-supercharged 5.0L V8 — good for an astonishing 1018 horsepower — that can run on E85 biofuel.

The result is a car that can go from 0-62 in 2.9 seconds, hit a top speed of over 250 mph and achieve 1.4g on the skidpad. That kind of performance comes at a price, though, with the Edition CXXR listing for €1,500,000 — a €170,000 premium over the "base" CCXR. The Koenigsegg Edition CCXR will reportedly see a run of six vehicles, with most already spoken for.

Hi Billsy,

With six being made, I'm sure resale will see the car in our price range...

...around 2074.

They already made a 1001hp Biofuel CCX over 18 months ago. Thing is, Biofuel is much like methanol: for 1L of BF you get double the "combustability" of petrol, however it takes twice as much to burn it.

So, if a regular CCX got 12mpg (ahahahhahahaa), this one would get 6.

Wasn't that the original CCXR that some journo crashed and destroyed?
Also I think you're thinking MPG not L/100km, because 6L/100km is pretty damned good economy if you're pulling 1018bhp :secret:

Nik - Please stop now. I can't handle any more :suicide: I prey Lamborghini doesn't release some new v20 Murcielago in the next few days...

Nope. They built a biofuel CCX and had the CCX-R.

Yeah, MPG is what I meant. I haven't yet had a coffee today.

Ohhh no I remember the one. It could be run on petrol or biofuel, but had 100 more bhp on biofuel if I recall?

Hmm 1018HP...... on a light car like that 0-100 Km/h in 2.9..  this must be getting a lot of wheel spin off the mark... veyron does it in 2.5 and thats 1001Hp and almost 1900 Kg's.......

Dauer 962LM does it in 2.8 or 2.9. 700hp + 900kg + fat tyres = perfect balance of spin & grip.
