by eskimo- on 04-02-08 04:45 PM waddup fellow drivers. i just got my b4 the other day and i gotta say it is pretty impressive for a stock car. was just wonderin what mods you guys started of with. i was also wanting to put in a turbo timer but someone told me that it wont work if i have keyless entry. something to do with the immobolizer? is this true? and if so is there a way to bypass it? ill get some pic up as soon as i can get a decent camera. btw anyone living in the western suburb of melbourne? lol hope to hear from you all and thanks for the advise in advance |

Its not the immobilizer, its the stupid frikken Brant alarm system that you'll have problems with. Brant's website claim this <clicky clicky> turbo timer will do the job, but from memory the hks type-1 turbo timers do too...but they are $300+ or some crap. Do yourself a favour and rip the Brant system out, I garentee that will be the most frustrating part of your new ride...it was for me!!

Agree'd...its definately not worth that amount of money! With my B4, I just take it easy (less than 2,000rpm/off boost) for my last 2-3 minutes of driving, then let it idle for 30 seconds... |

by eskimo- on 04-02-08 07:45 PM thanks for the advise dudes. oh yeah i get this pinging problem. i noticed cause my old man took the car for a spin the other day and he poured the wrong petrol. ever since its been pinging when i go past 2k rpm. i poured 98 the other day and its been fine, no more pinging. ive driven it afew times in pretty hot weather and it dosnt seem to ping at all. im guessing it might be the petrol? unless someone else has another opinion? |

by mattims on 04-02-08 07:49 PM yeah 98 only, 95 makes them drive horribly. But alot of them do ping in hot weather even with 98. There seems to be some worse than others. |
