Hi,

Thanks for posting, that's certainly different. My old man used to have a V12 XJK, that thing was quite the weapon.

I wonder if the chassis has been strengthened to handle the extra torque, you would think the engine would just twist the car like a free chamois being rung out...

Cheers,
Nik

haha, free chamois FTW!... yeah I am not sure whether this has had work to the chassis or not as far as strengthening it goes, I surely do hope so.

I didn't actully read the article but the general consensus among the motor trade (excluding retired RAF engineers) is that Jag V12's are landfill. Good to anchor a large motor boat. Something like a 2JZ will twice the power, half the size/weight and last 3 times as long. (and never leak oil)

No further comment Doug.

but come on, the thing probably handles like a roller skate with a brick on the toe.
No further comment here either.

I've always wanted one of these cars, and see how they go with a mild-to-medium 13BT.

i couldn't not agree more... more to the point... he has basically taken one of mazdas more reliable cars (im taking this from the fact that these cars were...or should have been marketed soley at female hair dressers and well honestly there is no chance that your average run of the mill hair stylus is ever likely to get their hands dirty fixing their car) anyway back to the topic... essenitally he has ripped out the best part of mazda and replaced it with the worst part of the jag... auctually for all those who have worked with jags we all know the worst part of any jag is the wiring loom... or lack there of... it seems that the english gentlemen at jag in all their wisdom decided that all the advantages of bundling wires into looms could be done without in most jags  when they opted for a more "classic english sports car engineering feel" in the way of running a single f**kn wire for every application within the car... i once removed the dash out of a 87 xj6... no sh*t i think there were at least 100 individual wires running behind that thing.... fun times... needless to say i ripped the front end off for a hotrod project... removed and kept the 350 bigblock the previous owner installed ands scrapped the rest...btw i made good money on the scrap metal... f**kn thing weigh a tonne...

Lol, that would have to be quote of the week.
I will nitpick you on one thing though, I always thought the worst part of a Jag was the part in between the front number plate and the back number plate.

Yeah, their wiring looms, OMG! Had they not invented multi pin plugs in 1970's England?
