41.6 at last check. my b4 is almost undrivable in this heat. it turns into a pinging machine. (That's with the a/c off, ecutek2 and dyno'd twice!!!!!!!) Any incline and it's game over. Heatsoak kills it.
I should add that im not flogging it in this heat. it does this at 20% throttle at the most! FMIC next.

Though about setting up a top mount spray to keep it a bit cooler?

Put an Electronic Boost Controller (EBC) on it. I installed mine with a simple toggle switch in the power lead for it, when it gets stupid hot i flick the switch, the EBC turns off and the b4 reverts to waste gate pressure of 6psi, and it aint gunna ping on 6psi. Its even easier than than swapping between boost levels on the EBC, which is the other easy way to turn it down. I installed the switch in the front of the ash tray behind the handle sorta bit with a black waterproof boot on it and it is practically invisible if ya don't know its there. Great way to reduce the power dramatically if your lending the car to parents/siblings/mates etc

If i had to do it all again I would go with aquamist and a retune. 2 tunes to flash in, one meth/ water mix and the other straight water.

I have considered a waterspray set up for the existing top mount XoN, but have heard mixed reactions. some people like them, some don't. I thought i'd put the money towards a fmic. Hopefully that will be problem solved.

Perrin Water injection system.

almost half the price of a fmic setup, no extra lag either!

Since cutting more of my front bumper for better airflow to FMIC, pinging hasn't been an issue on boost.  But considering its meant to peak at 44 degrees today in Melb, we'll see.....

And Ben, driving on 6psi in our cars is f*cked! Might as well change gears at 2000rpm.... :p

Unfortuately Walts i am serious. My car frustrates the shit out of me. It'll start pinging when it's in the low thirties. (Same mods as yours except cat back exhaust). Very annoying. Water spray, water injection, air to water intercooler or front mount - I don't know what the hell to do!!!!!    Anyway, B4Cruiser. How did your car handle the Melbourne heat today?

I know your pain.... Mine was a ping-machine but with the FMIC, cai and retune, car was good yesterday in the 40+ heat with a slight ping when i gave it a squirt past 4500rpm.  Previously, my car would ping in 26+ degrees and go into limpmode which use to (like you) sh1t the hell outa me.

Would you consider the option of a FMIC? Theres a thread from Scarles who are redoing their kit to try keep the foggies and smaller core to maybe avoid cutting the crashbar too.  This woulda been good before i got it! :p

Hi,

Hmm. It was a balmy 27 here yesterday, apparently we could be seeing nearly 29 today!

Cheers,
Nik

Hi,

Coincidentally I found the email with my password for here on it. When I ran a disk clean up tool it took them all out, and mine on here was a random generated one. Lots of x's and z's.

Beautiful morning here in southern WA though.

Cheers,
Nik

Walts 26 and rain sounds hugely unpleasant to me. Muggy much?

me too. never been before actually. being someone who's not into sport, i find that anything longer than a 20/20 only succeeds at making me sleep... thankfully most sport is far better live.

Same, Never been a huge cricket fan, Don't mind watching the aussie's sometimes, but the 20/20 is the most entertaining live.

Re: it's f*#king hot

i tried to watch test cricket once. it consisted of:

attempt to watch as not a lot happens
fall asleep
wake up half an hour later
notice that the scores haven't changed at all
repeat from top

in my last job we had the cricket on tv while working - got a lot more from it having a glance every now and then during the day than attempting to watch a whole match.

20/20 might "not be cricket" to die hard cricket lovers but what it does do is allow the average person to watch a game of cricket without falling asleep!
