by d_generate on 15-08-07 01:15 AM That's virtually what I did except I mounted a spray either side of the top mount because I found the sprays hit the splitter, I already had the dual pump washer bottle & funnily enough used a cruise control switch too but it's connected to a 5 second delay switch......works a treat.

by drip project on 15-08-07 08:28 AM "making the car go better" will largely depend on how you use the intercooler spray. autospeed wrote a very in depth article on this and discussed how most people misunderstand the function. usually they will program/turn it on when getting up it, however think about how long you actually have your foot welded to the floor for the spray to be effective??? when you really want the spray is either just before you get on it or directly after. this way you will start with a colder (less heatsoak) cooler before hand or bring the temp down quicker after you have wasteded the POS beside you who thought the lib was a family car! |

Yeah it makes a bit of a difference in summer, I usually hit mine a couple of times if I'm at the lights & think I'm going to have a run but I rarely use it in winter, doubt I'd go through a washer bottle twice a year, a lot of guys have it connected to a hobbs switch or on a certain boost setting but that's no help at the lights where you really need it to get rid of heat soak before you start, but most of the time I'll only hit it once on a run cos it stays on for 5 sec, it's a Jaycar switch that mine's connected to & you can adjust it to go for any time you like. |

by hawks123 on 16-09-07 11:20 AM Are there any issues with the amount of water that is spayed onto a topmount cooler. Where does the water go onto when it passes through the cooler? I figure it's probably fine as plenty of water must go in during heavy rain. |

by d_generate on 16-09-07 01:31 PM Yup, you just answered your own question, it just drips down to your gear box. If you think about the old Coolgardie safe, a box with damp canvas that kept the food cool by wind passing through it, what you need is to wet it then let the wind cool it, so a 5sec spray every 30-40sec is probably more efficient that keeping on soaking it unless you are stationary. |

by jezza247 on 27-02-08 04:44 PM I was wondering if anyone who has read the article which wires do what? Im stuck on the wiring part of my water spray installation. Also I dont seem to be getting any power through those power wires that the author claims is in the factory washer pump loom. Any tips from anyone? |

by james179 on 28-02-08 02:25 PM theres a gromit in the firewall just below the mastercylinder for the brakes and to the right of it. from memory this hole enters near the wiring above the cutch pedal so really good to run a line for a switch |
