I Want To Convert My Gen3 Rx Liberty But Not Sure On Some Stuff- Please Help Guys!!!!

hi guys,
just want to know which is better to do, putting an EJ20TT (B4 engine) in? or to put a EJ20T (WRX engine) in?
coz i heard something about the EJ20TT engine that the turbo lags and not as responsive as the EJ20T. Please correct me if im wrong, and advise or give me your opinions on what to do.

i'd seriously consider selling your car and buying a b4. you will save a rediculous amount of money doing it that way.

Couldn't agree more... It's been proven over and over that it is much more cost effecive to sell the RX as is and upgrade to a B4.

Not at all.. it's just a car! At the end of the day cars are all worth a certain amount of money.

A stock RX is worth more than an RX that has been converted, regardless of how many thousands of dollars you throw into the conversion and performance mods.

It is much more sensible to buy a car that has a turbo in it from the factory, unless the car is going to be used for track work or if it is not worth that much on the resale market.

Mind you, I'm not saying that there haven't been some successful conversions out there, particularly in the Gen2 world, but when it comes to a Gen3, there is little difference in price between selling your RX and getting into a B4.

To iwashereB4you.... To convert your car to a turbo, you'll be pushing $10,000 if you are going to do it properly. $5,000 if you want to do it on the cheap & nasty....

well... the thing is i love my WRX's but it doesn't provide the space i need, and plus ive done too much interior work to this RX so i thought it would be easier if i was to just convert it. But i see where all you guys are coming from and it's probably the most sensible thing to do. i did get quoted 6.5k to get everything convert for a EJ20TT, do you guys reckon it's worth that much? I'm not to sure what to do. Coz my mates tell me to put the EJ20T in. And that would be costing more.
CAN SOMEONE WHO'S DONE ONE OF THESE CONVERSIONS PLEASE EMAIL ME!!!!

if its possible to take out your interior and fit that into a B4 that would be easier and cheaper than a conversion.

the TT B4 motors have a lag spot between the two turbo's changing over and are known to have a pinging problem, BUT with a retune such as an EcuTek they can easily fix this and have the car pulling 160kW atw.

these guys are right your much better to buy a B4 than convert it will save you stacks.

single turbo conversion would be good if your going to chase loads of power, but is more of a trouble to do the conversion as its loom does not match.

either way if you do a conversion you need to deal with all the engineering and paperwork etc that has to take place to get it on road.

and you're already off to a bad start, it's the wrx engine that's laggy and not responsive not the b4..

Listen to the boys, sell the car and buy a b4

I was looking at the same thing, It was only going to be like a 5 grand or less price adjustment to sell the rx and step into a b4. blemo was selling hers for 13,500 or roundabouts.. thats cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is that 6.5k for tune/exhaust as well? always some hidden cost that pops its head up. just ask bleaven.. whats he on now, his third tune in 1 month?

Also add the cost of upgraded brakes and suspension, you'll need the extra handling to control the power
