Hi,

Well, after getting to average near on $800/m in petrol expenses, nearing 100k on a pinging motor, CEL, etc. etc. I got out of the B4, and into an Outback 3.0R.

Very happy with the decision, looking at getting just over 650k from this tank.

Plans are simply tint, exhaust and stereo.

Cheers,
Nik

Nice car. This probably suits your requirements a bit better perhaps?
The 3.0 is smooth isn't it.
Did you get the GPS?

Hi,

No GPS, I was about to get into a Liberty 3R that had the GPS and rear parking camera - after driving for a day and a night, I just couldn't see myself using it. I'm a UBD guy, and it proved to be an expensive option!

I drove an 06XS Forester Luxury overnight aswell, and just didn't quite feel right.

Outback is doing really well on my local roads. I'll definitely miss the turbo, and I think I'll miss the attention as well - but the pro's are far outweighing the cons for me. The B4 really was getting trashed down here.

Also, had a great experience with Subaru Osborne Park - I'd recommend them for used sales.

Cheers,
Nik

Hi,

Would you believe that I haven't actually sunk my boot into the firewall yet?

I'm scheduled in for that this afternoon!

In normal driving though it's a dream - definitely keeps up with traffic with ease. It is very, very quiet.

Cheers,
Nik

Tidy mate.

Yeh i can understand getting outta the lib. I did the same thing and was looking at a 2nd hand 3.0R Lib manual and the xt foz but eventually went the new wrx because it was new and for the price it was the quickest and more to my style.

But good stuff with the outback, always loved the style and they have a really nice interior feel and look. And the 3.0 goes real well up top with the revs onboard and sounds real sweet too. But once you get used to the power at the top end you will be up there as much as poss and it will drink the fuel with the heavy foot.

How funny, i have actually driven every style/model of subi.

B4,xt foz, xs foz, gtb lib, wrx, outback 2.5 and 3.0, impreza gx, 2.5 & 3.0 lib.

hehehehhe
