Welcome mate
Thats a very nice looking B4 in your avater
As brendan had already mentioned, Turbo-back exhaust, Intake and tune will get you around 160-180awkw. After that you might want to think about a larger top mount intercooler or go front mount.

Dad,

All the experts will recommend exhaust, intake, intercooler, etc, etc.

Before you spend $1000 on an exhaust for 15Kw, have a chat to Paul at Pulse Racing 02 9543 5007.

For my $1000, my B4 gained over 80Kw!!!  Dyno sheets will be posted soon.

Everything is improved everywhere.

I don't think I'll be needing an exhaust now.

Hi,

What you really need to answer for yourself first is; what do you want from the car?

Will it see the track? Is fuel consumption a concern? How much mechanical work can you do yourself? Etc. etc.

Also, make sure you remember a stock B4 is (debatable) underbraked out of the box, so money to slow down should definitely be budgeted purely from a safety standpoint.

If you're keen to just make your capable cruise a bit more capable - B4Lunch's approach would probably suffice. For mine, I'd spend money on firming up the ride, sway bars, strut braces, HD mounts to suit... and the rest. Plus some sort of increase in the braking package - slotted rotors and some decent pads should be treated as the minimum if you enjoy some spirited driving - even if you don't, makes life a lot less stressful when some nimrod in a 'zippy' little car pulls out on you while you're doing 60km/h.

Welcome and enjoy the site.

Cheers,
Nik

Hi,

Tipping an ECU tweak? 80kw is ****ing huge increase for an ECU tweak though with no breathing mods.

Cheers,
Nik

Hi guys,

I made an 80 mm PVC cold air inlet from in front of the wheel into the stock airbox.  This made the car a bit more responsive and peppy, it seemed.

Then after a pinking episode I called Pulse Racing. They use open-ecu software, I believe, and charge $1000 for its installation with a custom tune.

I'll get the dyno sheets up real soon now..... in the appropriate forum of course.

Yeh cheers for the welcome. got a few plans on the way to upgrade my top mount to a front mount some time soon, just feels as if the standard intercooler is doing it for me anymore. If anyone knows of a good intercooler to get for my B4 it wld be appreciated. Cheers.
