how many is to many

hey guys

i have a 01 gen 3 b4...im am seriously considerin startin to do a few more mods. i already have full exhaust, cai, and a chip. lookin at buyin a new TMIC and just a BOV.
wats holdin me back at the moment is the fact that the car has close to 150,000k's on the clock...i was just wonderin wats evryones opinion on this many k's??? is it to many???
also are there any problems or anything i should be worried about when its getting this many k's on it???

I reckon the kilometres are OK. As long compression is OK, servicing is up to date, and you look after the thing, you should see another 100K. Easy.

In relation to the thread title....how many is too many 3's in 533333333333333EYA?

You should set some cash aside as insurance incase those k's become a factor...  and replace all hoses if you are going for crazy hp...

Alternatively, stroke it and fugg the k's...

yeah its just a bit worryin lookin at the k's and seeyin that many...also wats this pingin that evryone talks about??? ive never heard of this...

how many 0's in S000000000000000000000000081???? haha yeaah ill try and make it more clear in the title next time...

MY B4 has 130k+ at the moment, and runs like new..

As with everything, if you look after it, it will look after you!.

In saying that I probably aint looking after mine the best at the moment.. its getting some harsh treatment:)

Sold the Subaru, replaced it with a Honda.. but all I know is Subaru's! (and Holden V8's of course):secret:

The Kosti tune eh smile I'd be interested to see how hard it goes, matter a fact i've never been in a stock b4 or any twin turbo car for that matter, hm sad

it goes really well.. I pretty much don't hesitate to kick it against anything.. next time we meet I'll take ya for a spin.. it's faster then Kosti's too.

But I service the car every 3000-5000km's and check fluids pretty much daily

You haven't had it dyno'd have you? Any idea what sorta power you're making ATW?

Im now on the 164000 mark and honestly the car is giving me alot of grief! The f**ker is overheating like ass. Just befor I went over seas I spent $400 on a new radiator, thermostat, seals ect. It seemed good but after giving it a little a few days ago it was back to its old tricks and I boiled the coolent or whatever so tomoz my uncle and I are going to run a few tests to make sure and I am hoping its not a blown head gasket. I think it may be a falt in the piping somewhere.

So my advise is to check all your piping, radiator ect.

yeah my radiator hose almost came off the other day...wasnt a good feeling seeing smoke coming out of my hood from the coolant dripping onto my block...:help: but shes all good now...but ill chech all that piping and everything out

150k isn't massive k's. But what you have to remember is that the turbo's will be the first thing to go. And with 150k, i would be taking the dumps off and checking the 'play' in the shaft/s of turbo/s.

Then if they are a ok..... then away you go.

Just for a bit of info, my 'shafts' where checked (oooh and yes i enjoyed it!!) at 90k, car no has 100k on it and the primary turbo had play in it then.

But each car and turbo will be different.

God the amount of times that i have said im guna sell my B4 and buy something else....... I went thru this same thing (and still sorta am) a couple of weeks ago.

I looked around at what i could get and i think for the $$$$ i would only get a 2nd hand wrx or alike!!!

I dunno, i was thinking of buying a Hachiroko (toyota sprinter) and doing it up slowly over the next few years and using it and my VP commonwhore as a daily driver till i get the sprinter the way i want it!!!!

yeah you can pick those things up for pretty cheap these days to... im contemplating buying a ke70 corolla and strapping a ca18 or sr20 into it...nothing quite like the feeling of beating a gtr skyline in a gemini or corrolla...the major thing that turns me off my b4 is the gearbox so i mite as well just buy an sti rather than pay big dollars getting the box in my b4...
