by dtrally on 10-11-08 10:49 PM I have nothing but respect for those things. The design hasn't changed in 30 odd years at least. A friend of mine brought one to a new years camping weekend at a farm. We thrashed the wheels of it, including many alcohol induced stunt sessions and it never missed a beat. Got air with 4 people on board at one stage! |

by subnub on 11-11-08 03:12 PM Aah the CT110, used to ride these around when I was working at the Willowbank dragstrip. I think they used to run 24 sec or so down the quarter, awesome! The only problems I had was with the throttle sticking, it was annoying/embarrassing when trying to work my way around the beams under the grandstands and below the tower |

by Adrian2627 on 12-11-08 06:40 PM There used to be a racing class for these about 10 years ago. They were bog stock except for the tyres and you'd see guys laying them over at Eastern Creek like they were Superbikes. Hell of a lot of fun low cost low consequence racing. |

by motard_mike on 30-11-08 02:40 PM well guys i can claim to have one of the fastest posties in the country.... a few of the many mods and i do mean only a few are. big bore with custom high comp piston (secret spec but about 16:1 CR), race cam, flat slide carby (big.. off a 250cc 2 stroke), stainlees zorst, heaps of head work, runs on strait methanol..... and much more....... to make it handel you can fit cr80 front forks or even sl ones will fit... for the rear moving the swingarm pivot helps as does a set of adjustable shocks.... any way mine will power wheelie in 3rd..... they will go for ever and are a great bit of gear. |

This comment is awesome, you have been itching to tell someone I can tell. I have seen more and more of these little beasts being sold at wreckers over the past year or so. It seems people are taking note that they are worth something to people. The price will rise for the next year or so as they are populour in 'pop culture' at the moment. |

by dtrally on 30-11-08 09:29 PM Nice job Mike, but I reckon you've lost some of the appeal of the CT110. Slidin into a corner with the pannier racks shuddering is half the fun. |

by motard_mike on 01-12-08 06:55 AM yeah that one is strictly off road. i had a road rego one and did a few less drastic mods to that...... after riding bikes for over five years its still the only bike i have ever stacked..... when you lean over the pegs start to drag and fold up.. thats ok but if you go to far the metal base of the peg digs in and levers the rear wheel off the gorund. next thing you know you will wake up laying in the bush not realy sure where you are and everything hurts. the postie was fine other than slightly bent bars and i ride it home a short time later. |

Re: Honda CT110 |

by motard_mike on 01-12-08 07:43 AM yeah its easy. firts go to your local honda dealer and buy a few jets. just take the carby off and pull the bowel off the bottom and remove the main jet and id try a .85 to start with. take the snorkel off the back of the air bok and go for a ride. now hold it flat in 3rd and see how it feels? now put a slight restriction in the snorkel and if it goes better with the restricter in you need a bigger jet. just play with it till it feels good.do the same with the nedel hight once you have the main jet right. if this all sounds difficult maybe the workshop manual is a good idea. but its easy realy. if you cant get a jet the right size any decent engenering shop will have a drill bit the size you need....... |

by motard_mike on 01-12-08 08:20 AM for the front end you can try and get the stock ones working better by adding spings and oil but as they say you cant polish a turd.... its eaisest to put new tripples in with new bearings and stem. just wonder round the wreckers and see what fits. i have a few sets.. cr, sl,kx and even some dt all that realy matters is the stem length and diamiter. but keeping it all honda does make life easy. for on road i would use the stock front wheel if you can. might need spacers to get it perfect but thats easy, again if you can use honda thats better. for the rear shocks i found an old set of koni rebuildabls. they where a little longer than stock and i also moved the top mount forward to lay them down a little. if you go longer shocks you need to move the swingarm pivot to keep the chain running nice and thats more serious work. id just get the fron nice and forget about the back if your not getting serious with it. for a few dollars you might even get a compleat bolt in front end with wheel and hydrolic disc brake then just lace the postie rim to teh new hub...... that would be trick! |

Eeeeeeeeew! Bowel? Surely you men bowl.......Haha. ![]() It's funny when guys who've ridden bikes for years will get on a low power bike and don't give it any respect at all. My mate who rides a modified Ducati 900SS got high sided by one of these bad boys as pictured below. ![]() He was wearing tracksuit pants and thongs and had about 12 beers under his belt. The trackie daks ended up down around his knees and he had a face full of dirt, funny as. |
