Hey there, just saying hi - I've got a 93 lib 2.2l non-turbo, you guys have probly got all turbs and scoff at non turbs. I know on ns.com (I have a silvia turb) I do the same thing... But fair go anyway, look just looking for some help on a few issues with my car but first I have to say that my liberty is the best F@#king car I've ever had, its done 356XXX K's and has never missed a beat, it'll go anywhere and goes hard for a 2.2l NA car (and the flogging I constantly give it!)... Soobies are tough cars.

Aannnyyyway, know I should post this somewhere else but I haven't worked out the site yet, I'm pretty sure my wheel bearings are shot as whenever I turn the wheels from one side to the other fast the steering clunks and I know it not tires, the wheel also goes from side to side if I accelerate hard and don't hold the wheel. Not CVs, they're good. Could be bushs or tie rod ends, but I'm pretty sure it bearings and on all 4 wheels, also brakes squeal even though they're new. I think thats it. So, where to get em? (supercheap, autobarn? OEM - Subaru?), how much $$$ and how hard is it to do??

Sold the Subaru, replaced it with a Honda.. but all I know is Subaru's! (and Holden V8's of course):secret:

make sure to get some good sealed wheel bearings for starters.
clunks could be a few things tho. id go over ur strut tops (check the rubber surround isnt cracked) / ball joints / tie rod ends.
they are all easy swap overs tho it would pay to get a new alingment after your new tie rod ends.

Nah, my lib is stock as a rock except for a muffler (nothing sounds hotter than a sppbie motor!) and a pod filter, also nicks and scuffs on it cause a i like to see where I can take it. It does have a 15 and 12 inch sub with 500wrms driving them though, they're good fun. Anyway, what symptoms would shot wheel bearings give?

wheel bearings generally give a **** load of noise and then goes away when you turn the wheel slightly as you drive...

welcome posts some pix of the car and which year model and engine and stuff etc

Hi Brad,

Welcome to the site. We don't scoff at non turbos mate. I'd drive a Blitzen 3.0 over a GenIV GT in a heartbeat.

Wheel bearings are notoriously shizen on Subaru's; especially if you have a tendency to throw her round the roundabouts and what not.
