In my experience, being that the EJ25 in the Gen3 is a SOHC, it does not swing upto redline as easy as the Gen2, which is DOHC (on each bank). Having said that - the Gen3 EJ25 has a much smoother and MUCH QUIETER power delivery. I belive my Gen3 EJ25 picks up a little easier from low-mid RPM's with the K&N Air Filter. When I get around to it, I'll play with the removal/adjustment of the other pipes/resonators/CAI etc... to see the outcome from those. |

a tough question as both are very different cars. The Audi is a 2.4 V6 5sp tiptronic FWD, a very nice driving car as it has Audi Motorsport shocks & springs, on 17" wheels. You can hammer it and it purrs along, and you never really hear the V6 unleash hell, or notice how fast your going. It sits a little firmer/flat footed coming hard into corners but lacks the involvement of the sooby. The electronic throttle is too slow for "driving" but A-OK for "cruising around town." The Subaru is the Gen3 2.5 4cly SOHC (each bank) 5sp manual AWD. More involved and more surefooted overall. The seats hug you much more than the Audi and the steering doesnt really 'shunt' when hitting hard ridges/bumps mid corner at speed, a characteristic still in the B7 A3/A4. Very different cars, I love them both. Each to their own I suppose |
