Re: Hi

  Top of Page

Hey guys n girls. Thanx for the welcome!

Yea just hit the link to www.subieboy.zoomshare.com  for a link to my beast.

I'm trying to get info on getting the GTB here to Oz as it is still in NZ. I have had so many conflicting stories about what is aloud in and what isn't! Just waiting for Qld Transport to tell me what the go is. Basically thus far I have been told:
A) that my model was not sold new here,
B) It has been sold new here,
C) I can not import it because it does not comply to Euro 4 emission standards,
D) List go's on, blah blah blah...

But I'll see in the new year what the go is from there and hopefully will have it here shortly!

Basically the mods this far are:

- Lowered 50mil on RSR progressive springs, shortened Billstein struts (JDM Factory option??) Bought the car with this mod performed. Car came complete with factory privacy tint, body kit, full electric option ticked!!! :clapping:
- Mods I performed:
- Turbo back 2&1/2" exhaust into Y join into 4" flexi join into 3" straight through to tip exhaust including OZ V8 3" Muffler, mandrel bent the whole way with new factory cat on primary turbo and high flow cat after 4" flexi joint.
- Modified WRX front strut brace, custom built rear strut brace (Les Summerfield NZ Rally No3 manufactured).
- Custom intercooler sprayer (Made myself).
- GREDDY Profec B Spec II boost controller set to LO: 10Psi, HI 16 Psi.
- Gauges (oil temp, oil pressure, water temp, boost pressure) in custom gauge pods (Made myself).
- Custom Perspex boost controller mount for steering column/instrument cluster mounting.
- Hardwired Valentine V1 with remote display.
- MOMO gear knob and pedal kit, leather gear lever-boot. (Installed myself)
- MOMO handbrake lever, with leather handbrake-boot surround. (Installed myself)
- Custom made Fire extinguisher mount cover in Subaru vinal (Made myself).
- Custom amplifier, ancillary install using JVC Head unit, Fusion Amps, Fusion Cap, Fusion wiring Fusion Fittings, Sony speakers and 12" Sony Sub (Made speaker mounts, sub enclosure, amp enclosure, etc myself as well as the complete install of all gauges, boost controller, wiring, etc myself as well).
- 770 CCA sealed Battery (stereo and alarm)
- ROH Shadow chrome mags on Bridgestone tyres (the tyres are cr@p in rain, ice, snow, dirt, grass, smooth tar seal, trac...) only good in the dry on course chip tar seal... :mda: , track tyres are Nankang NSII :victory:
- Bunch of other minor things.

Most of the above mods I either did myself at home (as marked)or were done in mates work shops with me having input or hands on tools under their guidance (A very big thanx to Whangerei Mufflers NZ, and Less Summerfield Autotech Services, Rangiora CHCH, NZ)

Also replaced starter motor (water in it) and centre diff (dealer I bought the car from topped up diff fluid with wrong stuff...)

Also My avatar is the beast's engine bay as it is now! :clapping:

Re: Hi

Nice list you've got going there, and an awesome ride!!  :victory:

In regards to bringing it into Oz, the GTB was not sold locally, and as long as it has been owned in NZ, by an NZ resident for a complete 12 month period and meets emissions/ safety and what-not.. you shouldn't have too much trouble getting it over here.

You might want to have a chat with 'legacy rsk' as he brought in his B4 RSK from Japan not that long ago.. He's on Holidays for a few weeks, but I'm pretty sure he'd be able to give you some info!!

Hope that helps a bit! smile

Thank you guys! Yea I have owned the beast for almost 2 years now!

NZ is great when it comes to being able to buy things such as cars and aftermarket parts(especially imports) as we don't have the tarrifs and industry protection like here in OZ! And it seems almost everyone is into mods of some kind over there!

Safety wise it should be good, in NZ they use the ADR's as a reference for cars so all good. We also have a very advanced safety system called a Warrant Of Fitness (WOF). Basically the car gets tested: for 2nd hand cars it is once every 6 months, for new it is once per year until the car is 5 years old... So no worries on the safety side of things. The biggest worry is the stamp duty and the import duty... :vampire:

Yeesh my spelling's bad, twice edited this post... sad
