Hey guys and girls, kinda new to the forum thing but hope to get used to it!
i don't own a subaru right now i have a 1999 holden vectra but im am looking to buy a subaru gen3 rx liberty in manual! i don'nt know much about the car as in fuel consumption and all the rest of it but i was interested in how much i could pick a good one up for as im not sure if i am paying too much. I am extremely keen to do it up so it looks like a true contender as far as an N/A version is concerned but any information would be great cheers Dan

Hey mate,
I recently just bought a MY01 Liberty RX manual and couldn't be happier! They're an awesome car. Fuel consumption is around 10L/100km or less driven lightly. 12L/100km driven quick, n about 15L/100km if you drive it hard.
Mine's got extractors, powerchip n exhaust, and the powerchip makes a huge difference in terms of torque.
They're an awesome car, well kitted out, and drive and grip fantastically!

hey buddy

i baught my manual MY99 rx liberty in march and coudnt be happier..

although it does lack a bit of go down low in the rev's and therefore i am also saving up for a power chip :victory:

and getting 15L/100 km will be driving it damn hard lol i drive considerably quick and get around 11 - 11.5 / 100.

also you could probably pick one up for around 14 - 18 i guess.. depending on age and kms

15L per 100klms? That's a lot!

I had a 1999 Liberty RX manual and it use to have a PowerChip with close to 400,000klms (before I did a TT conversion) and it use to consume about 12L per 100klms - giving it a real hard time everywhere. Mind you, I'm absolutely religious about keeping fuel consumption records...

Driving in city would consume about 10-11L per 100klms (there's bugger all difference in small capacity NAs when you do or don't flog it), whilst highway cycle returned about 8L per 100klms.

This is in comparison to my current car (MY04 GT Auto) which does 11-12L in city and flogging it will return a pretty poor consumption of about 15L!

Anyhow, good luck with finding one Dan... the Gen3 shape with the 2.5 will set you back 14-20K depending on year and kilometres. They're a great car and wouldn't recommend any other car out there!
