Hello new to forum, just bought a gen2 lib wagon

Hello I just picked up a 95 liberty ej22 with 160,000km on the clock. Unfortunately its povo pack just fwd. Just wont to ask about brake upgrades: I read Forester xt brakes are good, and have seen one in a wreckers. What do I need to pull? Caliper braket aswell? Or Does the caliper just bolt onto the gen2 bracket? Rotor direct change? What sized Wheels do I need to clear the caliper? Cheers

Welcome, calipers & discs are a direct swap & most wheels should cover them, pretty sure even 15" steelies will.
It's only when you get 4 pots that you need the later WRX 16's.
Just re read your post, Not too sure if the XT is 4 pot or not but if they are any 97 0n WRX wheel will fit & some 17" Liberty wheels too.

Welcome to OzLiberty mate.

XT Forester calipers are twin pots and a direct fit, no brackets needed, just new rotors.

I put 97 wrx twin pots on mine. picked them up for $50 in great nick with almost new discs and pads.

Am I right to believe that there are 3 stock sizes of front brakes?

1. Standard Liberty unknown size

2. Rx Twin Pots 277mm

3. WrxForri Xt 295mm

The forri in the wreckers was really a 2.5xt does this mean it got the 277mm? (Sorry forgot my tape measure) Do all 2.5 Subaru's come with the same brakes? Also do I need the backing plate of the donor car (stone deflector thing) it looks like it increases with size like the rotor. Cheers Again.

Standard gen2 LX GX calipers are POS one pot 266mm.

your correct with the RX and early wrx are the same also.

right about the Xt and later model WRX (four pots on late model rex)

Early WRX brakes are 277mm twin pots.

Gen2 GTB and B4 brake's are 294mm twin pots.
Later model WRX brakes are 4 pot 294mm.

The new GT brake's are 316mm twin pots.
