Hello Hello

  Top of Page

Hi All,

I'm Chris and new to this forum and to Subaru's.

I own a VX HSV GTS and looking at adding a Heritage to the family.

I live in Launceston (Tasmania) and work for the University in IT.

Hope to see some local Subaru people around when my beast arrives as I have been told I am looking at a 2-3 month wait sad

Cheers.

Congrats! The wait will be worth it. MY08 Heritage is a nice car.

I do a fair bit of driving for work driving between the 3 UNI campuses.  I got sick of getting a different car every week so I thought I would go the Subaru for the AWD for the early morning winter starts when I travel.

Plus when I tested the standard liberty it was a great ride with enough power for me and the girl friend.  I went for the looks and options in the heritage over the performance of a WRX.

I don't even have the car yet and i'm starting to look at the little things to get a little bit more power smile

Yeah I live in Launceston, but I spend 2 days a week in Burnie and 2 days a month in Hobart for work.  Hence why i'm getting the new car, i'm geting on a lease plan through work.

It's going to be nice to see some fuel economy again compare to my other car!

Theres nothing like the feeling of driving out of a dealers in a brand spanker.

My previous 3 cars were all brand new, but i should of learnt after the first one about a lovely thing called depreciation and resale. Now (for the family car) I buy a few years old. Sooo much money to save.

But still, theres nothing like purchasing a new car.

Enjoy it. big_smile

EDIT.... lease plan FTW!

Re: Hello Hello

Well after weeks of waiting I got the call at 9am this morning to say the car will be ready tomorrow... then at 6pm I get another call and the sat nav never came with the speaker (direction speaker? or something like that) so it looks like I have a couple of extra days to wait sad

But on a good note (i think) I got the special edition with the McIntosh stereo but now I can't get the amb & sub pack, but I think the McIntosh already has a sub? The dealer wasn't sure.

Oh well, I hope to own a subaru soon... smile

Woohoo.... I picked the car up yesterday morning smile

The installation manual was misleading with the new MY08 with the McIntosh stereo but they got it all working in the end.

Hi,

Great news mate, enjoy the new ride. Let us know your thoughts in a week or so of driving.

Throw up some pics of the beast when you get a chance.

You Tasmanians are coming from everywhere! Well. Mainly Tasmania, but you know what I mean.

Cheers,
Nik

Re: Hello Hello

Well i've had the car for a month now and pretty happy with it!

Don't get me wrong I would love a turbo liberty but it was a little out of my price range and I have the v8 for thrills.

The liberty offers great comfort with the leather and it is great with fuel on the highway, I am getting between 7.8-8.2l per 100 k's so I can't be unhappy with that!  I've done around 2500k's and the average fuel is 9.2l per 100, running on premium fuel.

I just got a parrot blue tooth kit fitted just working on the relay to turn off the head unit when a call comes in.  First bluetooth kit i have had and I wouldn't want to drive a car without one now!
