Hello all...

  Top of Page

G'day folks,

I get around on a few Subaru Forums and finally decided to join Ozlib.
My current ride is a 1980 Mitsubishi GL Sigma . Soon to be a GT Forester.

Just thought I might be able to find some info on JDM Legacy 2.2 engines here...a searching I will go...

I look forward to picking the brains of those of you in the know.

Cheers,
maXX

Just out of curiosity, why the info on 2.2L Legacy engines when you're getting a Forester GT ??

Cheers,
JOnno

I'm Glad you asked mate!
I have come across this JDM Foz on ebay --->>>LINK<<<---
Just a bit suspect on the engine...2.2 STI...don't think so...
I'm having it checked out as I am in Brisbane and the car is in Melbourne.
I don't know much about ej22's and I thought this was a good place to learn...
Cheers,

Welcome to the forums mate.
Although we've never seen any of them here, I believe there were indeed some WRX's that came out of the factory with a 2.2L turbo. Engine code is, logically, EJ22T.
I think Japan was the only country to see them though...

Welcome to Ozliberty.

From memory, the only EJ22T in the JDM market was the 22B, so it could have that engine, which would have been a similar year to that forrestor.

Also in the early 90's the Legacy GT in the USDM had a Ej22T.

Thanks for the replies.
This Forester turns out to be an engine swap job. He has put a EJ22T into it but everything else is stock Legacy.
Let's just say I'm looking elsewhere...

I want a Forester but some of the rides here are making me rethink...

First up, welcome to the forums!

Second of all, I strongly suggest you do re-consider, Foz's aren't anything really special, whereas a nice new(er) Liberty GT will be something of beauty smile

hehe have I convinced you yet smile ?

Nice 500th post!

Not convinced yet ...I'll keep looking though.

My mate got himself a Silver TT B4 Auto about 6 months ago. Stock as a rock. Wasn't too bad for his first car...60-odd thou on the clock. Blue and black leather, BBS rims. petty it was auto.
