Hello all...

  Top of Page

Hey fellow Liberty owners. wink

I have been looking for a Liberty based forum for ages as I just love the Liberties! I am hopefully going to get one for my first car, cos my dad has one and I love it.

Anyway I thought I'd just say hi. I've seen a few of your cars on here and I love them! The last one I saw was a light blue one in someone's avatar, I can't remember who it was but it looks awesome!

Umm well since I'll be after my first car soon, and I'll be looking for a Liberty like my dad's (can't remember exact model) so I'm just after any thoughts and suggestions if you could spare a couple of mins. :man_in_lo
Heres a few pics:

1. Just one of his car the way he drives it...

2. When you let down the rear bags; the height control stopped working a while ago, so he put standard struts from a 94 model in the front I think and he has run air hose to the back (as he can't get hold of and struts that will fit his)

3. And heres one of my amature photo editing, lol. It would look nice like that tho, I reckon anyway...

Thanks for looking everyone, I kinda rambled a bit but oh well. tongue

Hi mate,

Great first post, we love a bit of a ramble (you get to know me...).

Wagons are great for a first car, I had a Honda Odyssey as my first vehicle - it was perfect. Plenty of room, not very fast, everything you need for a first car. Maybe talk your old man into a hand me down? big_smile

Keep us informed mate, any questions you have we'll do our best to answer.

Enjoy!

Cheers,
Nik

Gday Watsa,

Welcome to Ozliberty, the Hand-me-down idea sounds like a winner.
Failing that Generation 1 wagons (Like your old mans) go relatively cheap these days and are a great first car.

Yea I've tried the handmedown thing but so far it hasn't worked lol. But I had a talk to mum and dad and they said we can go 50/50 in a car when we find the right one. And I've seen some go relatively cheap...Especially this 1989 Liberty I stumbled across on eBay for $500. It had a couple of bumper scratches, needed a new clutch and it had a dodgy engine mount, but for that price I thought it would be great. Too bad it was in Cairns...lol.

Anyway I'm gonna just look around for some, not sure how much longer the old man's engine is gonna last; its done something like 519k's. But it still goes great. smile

Thanks.
