GTBspec and Forester Sti

  Top of Page

Hi guys,

New to group. Have a couple of subies in the stable. A 2004 GTBspec from Japan and a fresh Forester Sti.

After having a thirsty BG5 GTB TT I swore I'd never own another subaru, the current legacy changed my mind. So last week got myself (well under the auspice of getting a family wagon) the forester.

I moved over to NZ a couple of years back and I love the import market here!

Thanks guys, I do feel lucky in NZ.

I turn my cars over about every 12-18 months. One of the reasons is that I need to own them for that long before I can send them to Aus as a personal import. The BG5 I imported from Japan as a personal import. Depending on whether or not I can get reasonable money back in NZ I can ship to Aus as a personal import. I have had the fortune to own a jap spec DC5 type R, an accord euro station wagon, and now these two.  All of the cars I choose are generally non local release. So if you want one I can send one over.

Bear in mind the legacy is about 30K for a second hand job, it'll cost about $2500 to ship, about $1000 for AQIS and Customs. Shouldn't be any tax as it is a private import, the compliance check is minimal. So it would cost about 32500NZ prob about 28K AUD not sure of the rate atm. The Sti Forester is around $36K NZ. Don't know if that makes sense in Aus from an economical viewpoint but it did when I first moved here.

www.trademe.co.nz is the place to go to see what is here and how much it goes for.

I will get some better pics of the Forester but here are some of the legacy B4.

They are low to mid 30s. Mine has 34000kms on it and has fortunately sat in garages most of it's life.

The cheapest one above has no sti stickers or badges but is definately an sti, either someone has gone for stealth or it is accident damaged and they didn't bother replacing the decals. Probably why it is still available and cheaper than the norm. Either way it is still a good deal I went and saw it and it was also a smokers car in Japan, this knocks a bit of value off.
