GT Wheel Info

  Top of Page

Hi All,
My name is Chris from Sydney.
Just joined the forum and was hoping to get some info on wheel offset and options. I have just picked up a used standard MY05 GT, the wheels are a bit scuffed up so I was looking to replace with 17 x 7.5"s mainly because they are lighter than 18s(for the same wheel type).   I will probably run a 225/45 tyre, What offset should I be after for this size?
Car will be lowered about 25mm from standard with Eibach Pro Kit springs soon after, is this a bit too much for normal road use? I don't intend to go off road.

cheers

As Kosti has said, the Offset of the stock GT 17 x 7's is +55..

(Oh, and they dont look too shabby on Gen III's either wink )

replace with stockies!

why do you want a wider tyre btw? you can run 225's on a 7inch rim.

Thanks for the replies everyone,
My GT is a black one, and I like the all black look with black rims etc. I think this look is improved by using rims that can fill the guards so I'm looking at 7.5"s, I think with a stock offset of +55, 8" may fit with some wheel combos and there's also the extra grip you get from a wider track. I might go to 18s if the 17s don't quite do it. With the OEMs I think I'll keep mine for the occasional track day, but they do look better on Gen 3s.
I'll have a look through previous threads so I don't end up reposting stuff.

cheers
