Greetings from WA

  Top of Page

Evening all.

Picked up an '04 MY04 GT last week, stumbled on this site shortly afterwards. Seems like a good source of info.

Got a bunch of questions, but a bit of reading to do first by the looks.

I always hate these intro posts - never sure what to put in them, so i'll leave it at that for now.

Thanks!

Thanks - I'm pretty happy with it thus far. Trying to resist the urge to mod at the moment, I think it's going to prove a losing battle though :ninja:.

Maybe keep your eyes peeled for some Spec B suspension and 18's to start with? There are a few guys who fit coilovers to them thinking they'll improve on German perfection.:ninja:

Is yours a sedan or the much cooler wagon version?:buba:

Assuming it's an auto being a 2004, yes?

Yep, auto sedan - girlfriend wasn't too keen on the wagon.

How much do Spec B suspension setups generally go for?

I think a small boost increase and chip/tune will be first on the list of things to do, with maybe an exhaust and some mild intake mods thrown in for good measure.

Anyone got any recommendations for a decent tune in Perth?

Hi,

Welcome to OzLib.

Keep an eye out in the WA section for upcoming cruises, great way to ask the locals about who they use, and what they've done to their rides.

Cheers,
Nik

Sweet.

There seem to be more WA members than I thought.

Are there regular meets or anything, or does it tend to just be the big organised events?

Actually, while i'm in here I had a quick site related problem:

I don't seem to be able to view things attached to posts (ie. not inlined) - I just get a 'You do not have permission to access that' screen.

Is this just a function of my (lack of) post count, or have I missed an activation e-mail or something?

Lack of post count I think. You need to get past 10 IIRC.

Welcome.

I'd expect under a grand for a set of 4 Billies and springs from a Spec B.
I just had the full Turbo back Stainless 3" exhaust fitted to my 07 GT-B by Norm Buttler (Buttler Built Products) and the work is immaculate. He re-used the original exhaust tips so it looks classy, yet sounds mean.
Maximum Motor Sport can EcuTek tune them, that's next on my list, aparently it gets ~30% more horsepowers with tune and good exhaust.

Yeah I've got a Butler system on mine, not cheap (around 2g) but you get what you pay for & he has worked with a couple of Subi workshops to develop a very good system over the years.
