goodbye...! the Liberty is has left the building...

  Top of Page

Took the Liberty GT for a final drive on Sunday night... taking it the beach for the last time, before it is being transported off to Perth to its new owner.

Gosh, it made me think whether I really wanted to see it go... seeing it being left at the transporters almost made me want to cry... but life moves on and well, a new car is on its way... not a Subaru this time (for the first time in my life). I'm now 26... and have only ever "owned" Subarus in that time... A new year, spells a new car... so it's time to say good bye to Subaru, or Subaru Liberty's for that matter...

Maybe another one in a few more years time... smile

there's a few choices at the moment. Test drive a 135i convertible yesterday... damn, it goes hard - like a bat out of hell... aside from those, I have a list that I must test drive...

Other cars on the list:
- BMW 325Ci E93 convertible
- BMW 335Ci E92 coupe
- Mercedes SLK350
- Mercedes CLK (unsure which one)
- BMW M3 E46 coupe/convertible

I have my heart set on a BMW... but the missus really wants the SLK350, which I'm not very fond of, especially since it's towards the end of its lifecycle...

Jebus! I wouldn't have ever been able to consider any of those cars when I was 26!

Nice list. I'm not a fan of SLK's.... They aren't manly enough or something.

Man, that story almost bore tears, a car is like a family member, especially when u had enjoyable times with it. I remember when me Audi was totalled I was cryin like it was death in the family. My lease runs out soon, so yep, starting to look for something in afew months, looking at
*Alfa 159 Q4 Ti,
*Lib GT Sti Tune,
*Bmw E60 530 Msport 0r,
*350z track

Keep away from the BMW E46 m3, my causin has 1 and it's flawed, bad quality and rides ugly, waste of money. Mercs r overpriced, my boss has a E320 looks hot and goes great but ugly cheap interior and always something needs fixing. Go a 335i twin turbo, BMW has lifted it's game and quality.

it is a touching story, the same thing happened when i got my first liberty, the owner was very sad to see it go but his mind eased when he found out it was going to a good home.

VIK- I know how you feel, when my wagon was stolen and written off i was completly devostated because as you said it was like a part of my family.

Yeh, the car has been part of my life literally... clocked over 60,000klms on it and enjoyed every moment of it. Definitely have some fond memories of it (especially in the back seat, LOL)

I know I will probably enjoy the new car, but it's just the jump... from being such a loyal follower and moving to the darkside... I think I just need a taste of what it's like to be on the other side... smile

Nothing wrong with trying something different, maybe go for the new Nissan GTR?  Not the most practicable, but think of the looks you could get driving down Chapel Street !
