Getting a Surfboard in a 2003+ Liberty

  Top of Page

Hi All,

Found the forum while i am researching at looking to buy a 2003+ Liberty, and one requirement is i surf daily in the morning and hoping that i can fit a surfboard in a liberty.

Looking around the net, the back seats dont fold down? is it possible to get a 6'3 surfboard inside the liberty? Not a fan of roof racks...

Buy a wagon and you'll be right.

Exactly! What kind of a surfer has a sedan anyway?

Welcome to the forum.
The back seats in a wagon surely do fold down, and the back seats in a gen2 sedan fold down as well. Not too sure about the gen 3 sedan though sorry.

Na gen three sedan seats dont' fold down, you wouldn't get a board in it.  Although you could get a fishing rod in without pulling it apart:)

Are you retarded? lol

I laugh at the guys who rock up with either boards on the roof of their sedan or awkwardly placed inside. Wagons FTMFW!

What do you ride?

If its a shortboard, put the passenger seat back rest all the way down and youll be able to slide a couple of shortboards onto the seat via the back door.

Seriously though, Wagon + Boards = WIN!

I fit a 6'7" in my sedan. I just lay the front passenger seat back and put it on there.
Also you can buckle it in if you are worried about it moving around. I don't bother but.

Not really. tongue

Sedans are the vehicular minority with surfers.

Hi,

Can we please not associate someone's preference between wagon and sedan with their mental health.

Disabled people would be offended to be called sedan owners.

Leave the missus at home, problem solved.

If i had a sedan and took the missus with me frequently also, id get a set of soft racks at minimum. Id rather have the missus sitting beside me.

Quite frankly, if you love your car, any car can fit a surfboard. I used to have a Honda prelude and i used to drive with surfboard sticking out of the sunroof and in the previous car i used to put the front seat back and put the board on it, only problem was that passengers had to ride in the back:)

You can also get soft or hard roof racks. smile

oath wagon ftw!! all my boards fit nicely in the back with half the seat down. I can actually fit all my boards in my gen 2 sedan pretty easy as well. the gen 2 sedans have the folding rear seats though.
