Gen III GX Clutch Replacement.

  Top of Page

Hey all, so basically I'm up for a new clutch. I called my local Subaru mechanic and was quoted $1600 replaced for an oem clutch converted to solid mass flywheel. Which is where the confusion started...

I then called around numerous places and got quoted best price $440 for an Exedy fjk 6557 HD clutch and was told that given the part numbers etc the flywheel was already solid mass and only dual mass in the 2.5 litre model. $550 labor to install.

So basically, I'm after a lighter weight flywheel anyhow, and I'm wondering If I was to go for the Exedy fjk 6557 HD clutch, would I be able to purchase say a Fidanza flywheel and regardless of if my current setup was dual mass or solid mass everything would bolt straight together?

Sorry if the words posted are a little disjointed, I can't quite get my head around what's going on with it all.

Thanks in advance.

Sam.
