Gday...got meself a liberty.

Hi guys and gals

well i jsut picked up my first car...(notice red P's) a 1999 liberty RX.

Im very happy with the buy, and already used half a tank in 4 odd hours lol

The list of mods i wanna do (in the future of course...hehe)

Sun/moonroof
darker tint
a good exhaust system...no cannon though. Im not bogan.
Strut braces front and rear.
And im looking for a set of MY08 wrx STI rims in the Dark argent look.
A good set of shocks all round...dunno, need help with that one.
Front and rear sway bars
and a set of Brembos all round.

Id rather the car go through the windy stuff better than going flat out.

Im in Rosewood...near ipswich...but please dont hold that against me :Derisive: and i would love to go on cruises etc.

anyway back to reading through the forums...alottttttaaa stuff here.

Welcome to Ozlib! I'm liking the list of proposed mods...As awesome as Brembo's are though, they might be a weeee bit of overkill for your car.

Nice buy mate
I've always been on the fence about that colour, it's very different.
As far as I know the 08 WRX STi wheels will not fit, both BBS and the 5 spoke ones have a PCD on them is 114.3, correct me if i'm wrong.

Also add front and rear sway bars

cool. thanks for the feedback. I know they might be overkill but c'mon...how bloody awesome do they look big_smile

thats a shame about the rims...what should i be looking for?

save your money bembos are expensive. 4 pot wrx calipers will bolt straight on with 17 in rims. all subaru rims are pcd 100x5, from 05 or 06 sti rims are pcd 114.5x5....got some factory hids for sale.....ooohhh and welcome nice colour...

Welcome. Good to see a newbie with their head screwed on right in regards to worthwhile modifications.

'08 STi rims will bolt up if you get the Liberty ones. wink but the '06 ones look waaaaay better. big_smile

I went for a drive up mt cootha today and i am really impressed with the handling and performance of the car. big_smile exciting times ahead.

Would it be worth getting upper/lower and front/rear strut braces?? and when people on here say "tein springs" do they mean Bilstein??

No, they mean Tein, different brand.
For the price you would be better off getting some used Bilstein shocks.

Your biggest gain will be front and rear swaybars. Buy these first, and if you only get one at a time, get the rear one first. A front strut brace later and in a sedan, a rear strutbrace is a bit of a waste.
