G'Day OZLib

  Top of Page

G'Day Everyone,

My name is Brendan, originally from Sydney, but currently in Perth, love it over here.
My ride is a MY07 Liberty GT Spec B, Urban Grey, no mods as yet but in the very near future STI rims and an ECUTek tune.

Any links to other posts or any other ideas would be greatly appriciated:ok:

Welcome to the site mate, there are a few us from here on the left coast.

Very nice ride indeed!

Where are you planning on getting the ecuTEK done? Have you looked into VERSO tuning at all?

Cheers,
Nik

Hey Nic,

Looking at getting it done at Race Torque Wangara, but im open to other ways of doing it cause 2K is quite pricey

Verso, which calls All Star Garage home is just under a grand.

Allstar Garage (Own HUB Dyno)
Unit 3 - 21 Vale Street
Malaga, Western Australia 6090
phone: 08 9248 7433
- Verso
- Motec
- Autronic
- Apexi Power FC
- Call for others

Probably worth giving them a call, as a spare thousand bucks never hurts anyone. There are some claims of warranty with ecuTEK, but I'm very skeptical of this, I've never seen anyone get anything replaced for free after something goes wrong.

If you do end up going the ecuTEK route, don't forget to give Maximum MotorSports a ring too, as they also tune ecuTEK maps.

Cheers,
Nik

I guess the outcome would be the same? My aim is to get rid of the stutter and flat spots on hard accel. I was talking to a service manager today at suby and he was saying that with the ECUTek tune, if suby plugged in they wouldn't even be able to tell it has been remapped.

Same principal with VERSO mate, just a remap of the stock ECU so no extra unit is installed.

Personally, I am a bit wary of ecutek as there are just so many horror stories from it - I know in this case it is only as good as the tuner, but I just couldn't take the risk.

When things calm down for me financially I will be getting a VERSO on the B4.

Cheers,
Nik

Check with the vendors on this site mate, I think I saw nextmod had some STi rims crankin' not long ago - they might have been the Forester STi rims though, not Liberty.

Whatever you do, don't buy from Subaru!

Thanks for the links, backs up what I found out today when I went to see the guys at Allstar Garage, the SI Verso tune is still a few months off yet.
Im enjoying the research though.

I was actually wondering if they'd done an SI-Drive tune commercially yet. JAZZIE had an ecudebt, I mean ecutek tune done on her car when she bought it (done before she purchased it) - car gave her troubles... So she got it VERSO'd - car runs like a dream - seriously hammers.
