gday mate welcome to the forum

lx- base model, not much power gear unless optioned, hubcaps.. etc..
gx- next one up, most have power options, should have alloys
rx- sorta top model, power everything, 15 alloys, nicer interior..
there is no b4, as there were no australian delievered turbo gen2s!

basic rundown i dont have much time but im sure someone else can fill you in.

hey mate and welcome

well alex basicly said the main things but engine wise

LX= 2.2ltr FWD ( optional AWD) basic every thing...manual windows...steel taxi rims

GX=2.2Ltr AWD power windows steel taxi rims... air con ETC...

RX=2.5ltr AWD power every thing, alloy wheels, sports body kit, woodgrain dash. cruise control

and as alex said the B4 wasnt sold in australia in a GEN2

but they were in a GEN3 and were leather interior, 2ltr twin-turbo, 17'' BBS rims, bilstein suspension, climate control...power everything.

this kinda gives you an out look on the different models,

cheers

thanks guys. im from victoria geelong.

i was just wondering if the cars were any good for performance. if they were anthing like a wrx. i was talking to a guy on the weekend and he said that there is no comparing the wrx to the lib because the lib isnt that good?

If they are comparing a NA lib to a turbo wrx, the performance side is true, the wrx will be much faster in a straight line.
But in saying that, I had a 2.5l Liberty RX, and though the twisties I could kill wrx's and turbo libs. The 2.5 has so much touque that if you drive it right, its pretty bloody quick though the hills. And once you do some handling mods, they are awesome.

^^ they're also 2 completely different cars. it's like comparing a base model ford focus to a ford falcon XR8.

saying that, a liberty is an extremely great car. you shan't be disappointed.

If you buy a GenII definetly look for AWD (All wheel Drive) over FWD (Front Wheel Drive) in my opinion. Because you will just be able to get the AWD thrill with corners and the added traction. I even notice with my FWD that the wheels spin rather easy like 3000 rpm sometimes. I now regret haveing the FWD and am going to convert to the AWD when I pay of my debt to my parents and save a bit more. Also if you ever feel like you want to do any turbo convertions you would have the sweet feel of the AWD turbo like the REXs.
