For the Farmers in drought

  Top of Page

Hi all,
Something different to raise money during the drought….
Looking for a unique Christmas gift this year…
One bright farmer from Mudgee has come up with the brilliant idea of adopting his sheep out. In donating $35, another sheep can live through the drought and not be sold to the slaughterhouse for $5 (compared to their usual price of $40).

I thought this was cute, why not help out our farmers in need smile

That's a great idea!

Especially when wollies and coles sell the meat @ 3 times the amount of a full lamb/sheep.

Ha ha very funny! I don't think you realise how hard it is to be a farmer these day and it's not a laughing matter! I've seen these little buggars having to drink their own urine, eat dirt, rocks and sometimes the bark off trees or fence post. Its horrible to watch your live stock die in front of you, and there is not much shire councils can do for the local either, permits are hard (road regulations) and these blokes can't afford to get the live stock to eat the grass off the side of council roads. Its a disgrace that these big supermarkets get away with charging the prices they do charge and nothing go back to the producer of the live stock.

I'm no vegitarian, I love my meat off the land and where ever a fellow Australian farmer need a hand I'll be there to help voice there drought effects.

I love my Lamb!

P.S. Sorry if I sound too country but I live here, we all live here and this is a fair country that should be run by Australians not international companys with their markets!
