Hi all im the very impressed new owner of a 92 s2 gx awd manual wagon that i finally decided to take the plunge and buy after many years of debating on subarus after hearing so many good and bad things about them.
Fortunately enough the near arrival of our first child meant the sale of my rather impractical rx7 and silvia and the hunt for a new family car began....
After being disappointed with the 'local offerings' that seemed to be constructed entirely from plastic and not wanting to go down the stagea or legnum path i took the plunge and went for a boxer test drive and oh my!!!
having owned a string of high performance imports and 8s i can genuinely say my first drive of a subaru surprised me a lot ive spent thousands on other cars to get them to handle well and this 17 year old standard 2.2 na wagon was thrashing them all! true not the most powerful and i do miss outrageous powerslides already but the ability to swing it around a corner without even slowing down and stopping on a dime makes me smile everytime!
not only that but the build quality! 90% of the car looks and feels brand new even after 280k its just so solid and everything still works (bar the airbags which i promptly tore out)
i have many many questions i will be asking and after trawling the posts i am confident that all the help i will need is just a post away. hopefully my experienses can help other members too, i will do my best
