First Subie and im impressed.

  Top of Page

Hi all, names Mark.

Just bought a '97 LX liberty wagon, manual, 117,00kms generally to get to work and fit the boards in easily. I'm very happy with the wagon and for an everyday car it meets all my needs and has exceeded my expectations so far. Gad to join this forum as im sure it will provide me with answers i need.

The intention was to keep it stock being a daily, but that didnt last long.

Fitted a set of '06 rex 17's, lowered on king spring lows, catback system with xforce s/steel muffler (not cannon), stainless headers, k&n panel filter, gtb rear spoiler, rx coded mirrors, factory fog lights, debadged.

I also rebolstered the front seat bases and changed seat covers with a set i got mint from the wreckers, replaced 3 door trims for mint ones, replaced carpet (holes) with mint one from an rx, replaced dash console panels (broken tabs) replaced outer air vents (broken thumbwheels) fitted cd player new and new front and rear speakers retained factory tweeters, replaced rear cargo area window surround trim. rpelced passenger exterior door handle and protection mould. i also aligned two doors and the rear bumper. Heater core went so also changed that (yeh that was fun!)

You can guess that i dont like things broken or out of place. So after 3 months the wagon looks immaculate outside and pretty much new inside. It also drives and handles great.

If you read all that thanks.

Couple of crap pics from my phone.

Nice wagon. White looks quiet good on the wagon.

Resonatorectomy is simple.

Remove innerguard, take 1 10mm spanner, undo 2 bolts. remove. Done. big_smile

thanks for the warm welcome guys. i can see that this is a forum worth being involved with already.

ive pretty much always had wagons. i just love them.

the tint is 20% i think. was on the wagon when i bought it although i did replace the drivers window (damn score marks) and they retinted with 20% and it matched perfectly. yeh i cant stand things broken or not working. i'll put up some more pics, interior, etc soon.

i may have to look into this "resonatorectomy" is it worthwhile.

my last wagon (family car)...... i do miss it. i love wagons.

thanks mate,

i just prefer no badges, looks cleaner. it only had the "liberty LX" badge and "awd" on the tailgate anyway.

Mate that is a very very tidy Gen2. All your cleaning up has obviously paid off!
Need to shorten that shifter a bit though, looks like you've stuck a knob on the end of a broom

yeh i would definitely be keen on a short shifter, fitted one to my last car. may have to do a thread search unless someone can point me in the right direction.
