First post hello

  Top of Page

Hi all,
Thought it about time I logged a hello. Great forum with excellent advice.

Currently own a MY04 Lib GT with a few add-ons. STI front strut, STI ECU, Bilsteins w/STI springs, Corazon front bumper. About to put on some new brakes and 18" wheels.
Had the car for 3 years and pretty happy with it now. Except the brakes!!!

hey and welcome to Ozliberty

looks like some brembo's might be in order for you.

but before looking at changing the caliper. try a set of good brake pads and some slotted rotors.

enjoy the forums

Very nice..

Who did the mods?  STI ECU??  From a WRX?  Also keen to know more about the bilsteins - were they second hand?

Oh and welcome to the site!

Most of the Mods were done through Subaru. I did the Liberty STI ECU(same one as the "tuned by STI" ECU) when they dropped in price $900. The car responded beter under 2500rpm, more linear. However, not a real big difference in performance, lucky if it is 10kw more.

Got the Bilsteins 2nd hand from Japan and fitted locally, supposedly with only 6000km on them. Firmed up the ride nicely, however, need to be cautious with the bumps on the road. The car was lowered around 15mm with STI springs which suited the Corazon front bumper as it is 15mm lower than the OEM bar.

Was thinking about the STi ECU upgrade, looks like it would be bit of waste of $$

Thanks for the welcome.

I have finally put the 18" Rota Tarmac II on the car with 225/40 R18 Nankang NS-2s. Really happy with look and the ride is actually better than the 17"s with the Michelin Precedas. Nankangs absorbing more of the shock and certainly a lot quieter.  Early days yet, but so far, I impressed particulary considering the price.

Next the brakes and possibly a ECU tune.
