Hi everyone

Finally picked up the Liberty on Thursday from Al and Miles at AMAuto. Be warned: This thread will be mostly me telling everyone how cool these blokes are.

This thing is foocking awesome! The quality and attention to detail that these guys put into the build of this car is beyond reproach. The photos below do not do the car justice.

I initially started looking at Libertys way back in January. I posted a couple of threads here until Al let me know he was planning on putting together a conversion, and offered to give me dibs on it. I went up and saw them to talk about the options and technical stuff (most of which went way over my head) and was mightily impressed with how easy they were to talk to: Although I asked a number of stupid questions, he and Miles patiently gave me the answers, waiting until I was out of earshot before wondering out loud if I was retarded... :huh:

Most of the work was defined by them, and that was fine by me. They are the ones who do this on a daily basis and when it came to making a decision, my favourite line was "I'll trust your judgement". How glad I am that I did.

For a car 11 years old, this was presented immaculately. The rear wing is the only part that will need some attention, and I was aware of that way back before they started the build. The interior is superb; the exterior is close to flawless.

And how does it go...? Holy Sh!t! Oh my god, this thing is outrageous. Over the years, I've owned two Clubsports, another two V8s, and a couple of MR2s. This thing would thrash the bejesus out of any of them. I cannot explain the power of this car without just swearing uncontrollably. I almost blacked out from G stress the first time I took off at full throttle. Damn this is quick.

I don't know the detail (perhaps Al can comment if he sees this thread), but here's the basic idea of what went into this beast.
- 1997 Liberty RX
- Legacy TT engine and driveline, converted to run a single twisted turbo
- Legacy seats and console
- Bilstein shocks, lowered springs, big sway bars
- 16" WRX rims
- Front mounted intercooler
- Full 3" exhaust - that boxer burble is a beautiful thing
- Bigger front brakes
- Projector lamps (apparently they're the bees knees)

A huge hearty thank you goes to Al and Miles. Their reputation is well deserved; perhaps even not good enough.

As a testament to how good this car is, even my dad (who never likes any car that I buy) said he'd be more than happy to drive this thing. His best line yet: "Wow. It's got some poke..." as he accelerated from 40 to 100 in barely a couple of seconds.


I should be going on the RSLC cruise next week, so I'm hoping to meet a few of you guys and show off my new baby.
