Fatcat's Day

  Top of Page

My Day.
Man these cars go better than you could imagine around a track.
I got to drive the V6, V8, and Turbo (which a mate of mine has already), at full stick. Still smiling.
Then you get a hot lap with Craig Baird, current Porsche Cup champ. All the skid marks aren't just on the track. Still smiling.

Nice mate. Which was your preference, the 6, 8 or turbo?

Would you sell the B4 for one? :comando:

Mate, I'd keep the B4, but this is a whole different ballgame. The turbo, for a 2.5tonne car, goes, turns, and fukken stops hard. Great fun for big trucks.

No doubt at all. For its size the performance these things achieve is unbelievable. I'd love to have a drive of one myself.
Of course I'd rather have a drive of the new 911 turbo :victory:

I hate the look of them but I do respect it from an engineering standpoint. I've heard great things about how they go when you consider its weight and size.

Lucky you!!

Personally - I'd prefer an ML63 AMG...if I could afford one haha!

Here's the cheap way(sort of) into a Porsche

http://www.porsche.com/australia/motors … xperience/

Did this a few years ago, got to drive every general production Porsche model at the time on skidpan, slaloms and test track.Instructors didn't really mind how hard you were on the cars, as long as you didn't bend them.
At the intro briefing, I don't think I remembered a single thing the instructor said after he stated "yes, you get to drive the 911 turbo".

What a day that was:clapping:

Gulp, starting at $1200. Going by today, that would have to be an awsome day.

Fatcat,

That smile you had on today was similar to the one I was wearing when I did the Porsche day. It could be a Porsche thing, is that Queensland Raceway?

Got the turbo to 200ks in fourth down the back straight of the test track, the 911 cabrio-185ks with roof down-what a blast literally.
Filling a 911 cabrio back seat with water after an attempted drift on the skid pan.

I agree ,value is subjective, but there were no complaints-except that we had to go home.

Yep, it's QR. Is that were you were? The guy that came in the Turbo was telling me the braking markers were a little further back than normal. Understandable really, considering its over 2 tonne to pull up, but it did it so easily. I think I got to around 180 odd down the main straight but could have gone a bit more me thinks.
We didn't have a skid pan but we had a motokana set out which was fun too. The pan would have been fun.
