Enough about 'P' plates!

  Top of Page

Hey guys, I'm not sure if it's just me that's noticed, but there is a lot of guff on the site that has turned into a discussioin about 'P' platers.

Seriously, who gives a fcuk?

Some reasonably good threads have been destroyed after they've gone off topic with some rant about whether 'P' platers are hoons, good or bad drivers, inbreds, have bad parents, don't respect people because they have crap cars, are spoilt because they have good cars or some other such assumption.

I couldn't care less if someone is on their 'P's. I reckon congratulations for getting your license. Mother nature, fate, the powers that be, or what ever, will take care of whether any of us are going to continue the course of our lives behind a wheel.

We were all on our P's once upon a time and we all learn from experience. Looking back, I thought I was a great driver when I first received my license some 13 years ago, but now realise that I was not so great. I became a better driver by learning from mistakes, not by worrying about what the media has to say or by listening to negative feedback that all P plate drivers are crap.

Can we please make sure that threads that are not about 'P' plate drivers stay that way?

As always, feedback is appreciated!

Cheers,
Chris

Thnx White RX, i agree.

i think its more or less all the imbeciles out there that have the problem with being a P plater. i get annoyed when i get stereotyped, but I'm allowed to.

people that live up to the media's expectations and then winge when the get caught annoy the crap out of me. maybe it should be compulsory to be in a bad accident before getting you P plates? maybe that way all the retards might get it thru there heads.

I personally believe that a Driver training course should be compulsory, as it is with Motorcycles.

P lters ge stereotyped big time though, ypu have those people who do burnouts and drive like they think they are peter brock( but arnt) and it just gives the rest of us a bad name

Is there some sort of club, were motoring enthusiast can have some sort of distinction from all the f*ckwits out there?

Personally i love my car, i have spent too much money and worked to damn hard to crash it or have it confiscated for being a dick.
As most of you know, the idiot P platers getting about generally drive POS cars, that they haven't spent a dime on, OR they drive expensive cars that mummy and daddy brought.

i want to be apart of an organization of like minded people, that can give me some sort of distinction over the other morons out there who have loud riced up cars. Because the average Nana cant tell the difference, and it seems neither can the police.

Basically you want to join a proper, registered car club?

Try Boostcruizing..  (or CAMS)   if you are talking about gendering respect by demonstrating driving skills, getting as many different licences as you can is a good way to start..

And WhiteRX, off-topic is here to stay while Sue Prack and Tanglicker reside here :beee:  EDIT: IT'S THE JOB OF THE MODS TO DELETE USELESS POSTS (and they do).. but IMHO instead of trusting fate to teach us lessons via mistakes, why not  learn from others that have made mistakes?  It seems obvious I know but if you listen to opinions about P-Platers, even if you're not a P-Plater, you can learn/evolve/improve/benefit and maybe save someone's life?

As for p-platers, 90-95% of bad drivers I see have a red or green P displayed...  living in Sydney, I see a lot of bad drivers..  and I don't mean inexperienced and honest mistakes, I mean speeding and weaving through traffic and tail-gating and ignoring schools and zebra crossings... etc etc etc..

It's a little late when you kill someone (or yourself) because you 'forgot' about  stopping distance..

I want to remind you that you drive a Subaru Liberty with an exhaust which was made in Japan....:blush2:

As for P plate bashing, Meh we can't drive, I admit that, except doing over 20 hours of driving a week, you get to see alot of bad drivers which from my experience are old people, and crazy people who yell at someone like they want to kill them because they cut them off....I surpose having no horn on my car really helped me become tolarent of gronks.....

As far as drifting a vL... lol, thats asking for death.......http://www.urthespokesperson.org/

Explain to me how i have an exhaust that was made in japan?
Oh wait i have the stock cat..... (which i think may have died in the bum, 380km to a tank mad )
Extractors that were made in Sydney.
Cat back that was made in Ballina, and a rear muffler that was made in the USA.
And finally, what in gods name does that have to do with my previous statement?

Just because its a Japanese car, doesn't mean its "Riced"

To my knowledge, "Ricing" is a term given to Japaneses car's that have certain useless mods. I.E non aero body kits, massive GT wings on excels, 15' chrome wheels, 2' cannons on NA 1.6 sh1tboxes, etc, etc.

A Japanese car termed "Riced" is one which has all of the above in absurd quantities.

I don't believe there is much if anything rice about my Liberty.

Stop being silly Baz....

Suuuuopy's car isn't rice at all. He's got some nice B4 rims on it, done the exhaust and lowered it a bit. He hasn't attached any silly go fast stickers, or pop rivoted any stupid after market attachments such as spoilers or vents or scoops. Therefore, he is not ricing his car - he is modifying it for slight performance gains and asthetic gains.

Based on your 'understanding' of ricing a car, you are saying that all of the guys on here have riced looking cars. I think not.

Ricing = adding mods that don't add to performance or astetic gains.
Ricing = your car, not sooops.

Soops car is evolving into a very nice looking GenII - yeah, when he first joined us, he was leaning towards the dark side of becoming a Jedi Rice, but he has asked questions, read posts, listened to advice and made constructive decisions about his car. Take a leaf out of that book you stooge.

It's very easy to make a Japanese car look non-riced - just take a look at the majority of the cars on here, all Japanese and no rice mods, aprt from yours.

As Alex said - Go away.

Buy yourself an Excel or Accent so that you can become a true Jedi Rice.... WOK ON MAN :new_russi

all I wished to do was to correct the bloke, Geeeesss...

Im not saying a Japanese car can't look anti rice, take a look at my friends corolla, 18inch rims lowered, very Gelato if u ask me....

I must say this is why people are much more pro Rsclub, I don't wish to offend people but I only use these sites for an information base to my knowledge, and I wssh it to be a friendly place in that... :yes2:

therefore I wish to leave this thread by apologising to Suprauc should I have offened him.
