ECU re-mapped

  Top of Page

Hi all,

I just had my ECU remapped at Kosti's place, and its making more of a difference the more I drive it,

Not so much of a difference on the 1st turbo, but the second turbo now spools almost up to 18psi and screams!!!, the car is running a little richer to offset the more boost,

It feels like the power comes on harder and more constant with no boost spike or pinging,

It is software that he has found that is the most recent for B4's and tweaked a little.. I can easily guarantee a 5-10kw difference after 2 hours of driving

I cant tell you what software it is, cause i don't know smile

But im finding a new found love for the B4 again!! I know now i can feel that mid to high 13 second pass on the 1/4 mile!!

Thanks Con!! (ur still a mug)

U do relise there's no warranty, hahahahahahaha

The MAP is from a JDM B4 02/03 manual, and as pointed out by another member while using the same MAP

it just seems like a much smoother tune... runs a bit more boost too.
I'd like to thank Brendan for allowing me to test this out on his car, yes this was the first time I re-maped an entire ECU

It was kind freaky at first but when it's finished and gives you the "OK" it was all smiles as we went hooning down my street.

I might add this was free!

I am gathering as many B4 ROMS as possible to compile were the best tunes are done, so i am keen to get more B4 owners involved who've previously had tunes prior to 05/06

Cheers
Kosti

Would I be right in guessing the tune requires higher octane petrol then?

Nope u'd be wrong :victory:

The ECU will learn that there's 98RON in there not 100 +, but we've covered that part of the tune to be safe :bye:

Oh, then awsome work Kosti! If I had a B4 I'd totally be bringing it round tomorrow.

Sounds like you're learning the tuning art pretty quickly mate.

fuel usage...

Its like a Ford F100 with a full load on the back, going up a hill, revving at 8000rpm with a leaking fuel hose..

Does that sum it up for ya?

Re: ECU re-mapped

is the a4shc01h map? i still had some knocking/pinging problems with this map .. had to remove about 3-6 degrees timing between 2500-3600 rpm to make it reasonably happy.

Re: ECU re-mapped

I think that was the one, But my pinging problem has pretty muched ceased, especially in the heat, the only real thing thats annoyed me a little is the fuel consumption is up a little, but no real power difference on the 1st turbo, but the 2nd turbo is boosting and hammering along..

An N/A was using that much fuel?? it must have been a 15 cylinder boxer engine, or there are 2 fuel lines, one t the motor and one to the footpath

HAha slight exaggeration, but he was managing worse fuel economy than a mate's R33 GTST gets, which is certainly saying something :blush2:
