DVD Copying

What programs do you guys use for copying you DVD's???

At the Moment I'm using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. Used to use shrink on it's own but encryption must be better in new dvd's and ther's no updates for it so they all fail using it alone now.

Just want to know if there is something out there that is faster or better. Cheers

i myself use a combination of SlySoft's Anydvd running in the background to bypass any protection.. then burn with Nero Recode.. (Nero Ultra 7)

smile works a treat!
takes a while to convert/burn though.. but it works well

I use DVD shrink too. But soon I will be needing to find a new program that doesnt shrink them so I can burn 100% quality on DL DVDs.

Dual Layer DVD discs are too expensive at the moment, so for now, ill stick to my dvd shrink, and dvd decrypter. As soon as Blue Ray technology, and HD dvd gets into swing, they will drop alot though.

U mean how do you back up your DVD's  :swoon2:

What your using is the best combo. But meadi is the biggest issue.

Stick with Ritek G05 and you'll never have a problem.

Burn at 4x for movies to keep quality and 8X is ok for data and or music mp3 type dvd's.

I use DvdShrink... though if it doesnt work i will try dvd-decrypter if that doesnt work, Alcohol120%.

I use ConvertXtoDvd for tvshows/.avi movies.

Running a NEC 3500AG 16x DL burner, and 16x dvds.

you guys are living in the dark ages....

as a home theater installer, i haven't used discs in about 6 months, my house is networked and i have a media pc in my office, i don't condone piracy and i only copy my own discs onto my hard drive and stream the media over my home network through to a modded xbox on each tv. having a digital tv tuner card in the pc and a decent sized hard drive enables me to record and playback HD tv and i can listen to my music and view my photos in whatever room i want. :beach:

That sounds like a great setup, but I have 3 kids who constantly scratch, leave marks on, destroy DVD's so I, like everyone else here, makes backup copy's using DVD Shrink and De-crypter, and keep the original in good condition. The best bit about that is all my backups I take in the car for the kids to watch on road trips and I can edit out all the other crap on the disc and as soon as it's inserted into the player, the movie plays. No waiting for warnings or menus to disappear.

Cheers,
Matty
