you fucked the central locking module by being a nooooob and putting foot well lights...the central locking module controls the dome out light

Yep, killed the CLM.

Good job smile

Try and source one from a wreckers.
Not sure where the box is in the liberty's, but in the wrx's it's pretty much under the steering wheel in the drivers footwell (sometimes it's in the passengers footwell). The box is about the size of a big pack of ciggies.

So it should, you would have only fried the output transistor/mosfet that controlls the dimming of the light, not the entire unit.

If you knew, you'd be in a Subaru too.

Does this light constantly stay on now too?

Sounds like you've screwed the CLM. I did the same on my old Outback and never bothered to get it fixed. Yours should be located behind the glove box and you'll need an identical one to replace it.

Its all intergrated in the central locking control module the dome out, and you cant just get one from the wreckers as then the central locking wont work from the remote the signal is different...
but if you read what i posted you would notice i never said the central locking wasnt going to work... and by the way the module can be fixed but the light wont dome out it will be just on or off when you open the door and close it.... ive fixed mine years ago its just a diode that you fried
