Defector

Howdy All,
I've recently come to fulfilling a long held desire to own a BG. Unfortunately its not the yellow GT-B manual I wanted, but it will be amusing nonetheless.
I have quite a varied vehicular history. I started off in Eurotrash - My first car was a 205GTI, which ended up with a 130whp Mi16 in 1995. I had numerous 911s including a cab and 3.6 which ran 11.8 on street tyres. From there I branched out into Nissans, S13s, 14s and 15s. My 14 and 15 were both on the cover of Hot 4s. I've had a few high horse GT-Rs - 671rwhp was the most. My latest Nissan Project is an S14 with a VVTi 1JZ running twin 3071s. It makes 501rwhp on pump juice.
I got an Evo 7 earlier in the year which is copping a 2.4 BC Stroker, its currently off the road as I broke the centre diff.
As for the BG its a local pov pack - wind up windows the works. Even came with the dual range 4x4. I have a '97 260 horse GT cut, some 19" Type C RS and some other bits and pieces for it. Currently at the panel shop getting a 2 tone paint job. Weighing up whether to keep the twins or just bung a VF34 on it.
Its a defection for me, as my distaste for Wrecks drivers is legendary, but I just love the flat 4 noise so much.
Looking forward to getting to know you all and picking your brains.

Welcome.
For cost efective, simple power, a single turbo conversion on the EJ's is the way to go. But if you like the idea of a Twin sequential setup, a couple guy's here are getting some decent numbers out of their engines. Plenty of info here.

Welcome to the forums. That's quite an incredible car history. I'm interested though, how on earth could you go from a 911 to a Nissan :suicide:
I mean, Nissan make some nice cars, and I certainly wouldn't say no to a 350Z or new GTR if they were offered, but I'd certainly take the Porsche over them...

Congrats on having taste in the lovely Gen2s big_smile Hope you enjoy the site and your Liberty!

My mechanics have been right over a twin turbo BE and really have urged me strongly to ditch the entire twin turbo setup. I'm entertaining the idea because VF34s are soooooo cheap new...

I raced a 944 Turbo S for many years and gave the 3.6 an awful hard time over the same period as well. It was costing me a packet, they are just so expensive to modify and run in modified. Running Nissans initially was the starting point for my business - C-Red Tuning. Although I harbour desires for a hot 911 still I'm endeavouring to scratch that itch with an AW11 for the evil handling traits and the BG for the noise.

PS - I have a new GT-R on order...

I picked my spider gears up off the road twice in the 205. I did love that thing.
I was hankering for another one, but I bought a Micra instead.
Yes its looking that way. The gaggle of solenoids and hoses needed to run the twins leaves me cold.

Its just a nasty nasty setup. About 10 more solenoids than you need. Its always going to be an imperfect setup so for a daily I'm just going to ditch it.
Only chasing high 200s as we're going to make it RWD only. Already have the 4.44 LSD rear end.

Re: Defector

Ta for the kind words guys. The 14 is actually running a 1JZ VVTi from a JZX100. Its got a little more in it as it was running out of injectors at 501. I reckon we'll be able to crack 600 with it easy.
As for the Lib it should be fun. I dont know how long the 160 is going to last in RWD only, but we'll soon see. On the lookout for a DCCD diff so I can have the best of both worlds.
