Debadging

  Top of Page

hey peeps jus wondering if theres anything i should noe before i start debadging my gen 2 bilsy.
i plan on taking off all the badges, including the bilstein badge (oh crap here comes the hate mail..)

so anyways are all the badges just stuck on? or are there sum holes behind sum of the badges like a few of the old commodores iv seen?

i plan on just heating up the badge with a hair dryer and running sum fishing line underneath it and slowly work my way threw, or is ther an easier way? thanks

I can assure you there's two holes behind the RX badge. I don't believe there's any behind the bilstein badge though. Not sure about the AWD one.

Gen2s look a bit funny without any badging at all in my opinion...

It's easy getting them off, But there is 2 holes behind the "Liberty RX2.5" badge, But no holes behind the bilstein or the Awd badge,
I took them all off and them put the "AWD" badge over the 2 holes

Edit. You beat me to it xon

I removed all mine and had the holes welded up. (tailgate needed respray) I like the look of no badges and a clean panel but i was going to put a GT badge on anyway to distinguish the car.

No badges

I get bored easily, And like a change, So i will probably take them off, put them back on, take them off and put them back on anyway.

And how does it look like a commo? They have badges.

Maybe you should attach yours with some colour-coded velcro walts? tongue
I don't know why it reminds me of a commodore, it just does. That's only the gen2 mind you, the gen3 not so much...

Awww dont say that, reminds me of my previous, previous family car. I even had the rear wiper removed and the hole welded. big_smile

Re: Debadging

i removed the liberty GX badge and cut the gx part off then used some clear, industrial strength double sided tape to re-apply the liberty badge (it's not a legacy, why lie about it) with the AWD badge underneath... (liberty and awd badges on one side, nothing on the other... though if i could find a decent looking, decent sized 3.0r badge, i might put it on, the only h6 related badging on my car other than on the motor is a little one under the gear shifter (about 50mm x 10mm))

i'll get pics if anyone wants...

edit: i uploaded a pic (yes my car's rear wheel is in the air, coilovers + swaybar ftw!):
http://i786.photobucket.com/albums/yy147/blaeven/59e986fb.jpg

i think it looks bloody brilliant!

edit again: yes i realise my rear right quarter panel and right side of the rear bar are a different colour to the rest of the car, and that the paint on the rear bar is rooted...

i'm getting it fixed when i get the car repaired from my recent accident... wink
