Yeah its 3 years from the exact date that you lost those points.

And the points aren't taken until the fine is paid.

And here is a did you know? The NSW radars can pick you up from 5km away.. But legally cannot latch on until 1.5km away and must be in line of sight.
I learnt the hard way. sad

The LIDAR Radars that NSW use cannot pick you up at 5 km away.  (try seeing that far as well)

There is no 'legal' distance on what you can be done at. Basically with the LIDAR you point it like a gun at a vehicle. When that vehicle is in your sights, you pull the trigger and get a lock on the vehicle for about 3 seconds. The LIDAR will then estimate the speed for the elapsed time and give you an average reading.

Obviously NSW LIDARS are line of sight, they have to be.

And just FYI dont worry abot being done heaps far away. You can get a lock on about 300m away, which when looking through the LIDAR you can only barely see the vehicle, but you can still see it.

So I would like any police officer to show me how to get a lock on at 5000 metres, let alone 1500 metres.

LOL :yahoo:

As far as signage in Tas goes, is
"speed cameras operate in Tasmania" or in this area? I'm pretty sure it says Tasmania as if its directed at tourists.. who speed.

Well i got my information from the Senior Sergent that pulled me over.
It was a radar on the side of the car.
And he picked me up from 270m away. This was on thursday.
