Cruise Controll

  Top of Page

Hi there Guys, I am thinking of trying to put Cruise controll on my  My02 B4 liberty which is a manual and there does not seem to be a whole lot of room in there. Was wondering if anyone has tried this opperation and had some success hopefully. Your input would be helpfull. The Idea of the cruise controll is to help me keep my foot off the go pedall, hopefully.

that is not entirelly correct shane.....unless the cruise control is factory standard....

All after market cruise contorls will be vacuum operated well held in place is more like it....Last time i did one was on a VR SS Manual....bought a cruise contorl kit form (Covenrty) Burson now for $200 took about half a day to put in or so....there is a control unit and a control box which conects via 12volts and etc...the actual unit that holds the accel cable t Peices into the vacuum from the bkrae booster which hold the accel cable at desired speed.there are also magnets that get placed on the tail shaft to tell the control box how fast the car is going...its simple insturctions.....

Good luck if you need more info PM me.... but i will later do the same to my B4....

The Autron unit will work with the B4, it's been done - hence the pics of the control unit on the website on a B4 wheel.

It's just a bloody expensive option.

My b4 has that one fitted ^^^ by a previous owner, works quite well, not quite as smooth as the factory cruise on my old gen2 but pretty good. The only time it struggles is going up hills, the speed starts to surge a bit. It cracks the throttle a bit more as ya lose speed which gets a bit of boost happening if ya under load up the hill, so it goes over the set speed (not by much maybe 5kmh) so it backs right off meaning ya then drop under the set speed so it cracks the throttle again and the process repeats. On the flat though its pretty spot on. Dont think id pay 6 or 7 hundred for it though.

Its vacum on mine but it has a little tank in the vac line to the actuator which i assume is a little vac tank so it still works when ya got boost, same as ya brakes i guess.
