Please excuse dylanf.

he lives in the mountains. cows are somewhat a novelty to him, as all he has up that way is goats.

That's why, you'll see him sometimes refer his car as having a certain number of gp, not hp.

Dylanf its quite normal for 'milking' cows to do that! They are taught it before they become yearlings, So when they leave the "farmers hand" so to speak, they practice what they've just been taught out in the paddock. Some pick it up most don't.

When the cow starts producing milk after its first calf, the cow then will start to suck its own teats and this time actually getting milk. (instead of when it was learning when it was a yearling)

As of figures of April 06, farmers across Australia who had done this had on average 8 cows for every 100 cows... Now across a milking herd of 400, that is only 32 cows.

Its taught to the cow because this increases the protein in the milk, however also increases fat/Pl.
Just like stem cell research, there is two arguments to it...

By the way, the supplier has to be let known if this technique is being implemented on the farms cows...

Wow, I've never heard of it being done actually. Makes sense I suppose, I just loved the look on the cows face as the guy got up to it with the camera. See it get up and walk away with bloody spit and milk and mucus dripping from its mouth
