by cam1754 on 22-12-11 06:33 AM hi guys,I have just brought a black 1994 subaru legacy twin turbo. It has only been registered this week and last night when my girlfriend and I went for a drive ,she went to change gear from 2nd to 3rd and when she depressed the clutch pedal,it never sprung back to its usual position.we had to coast off to the side of the road and get towed home(300 metres away!!!)I had to pull the pedal off the floor and went to press it down again and it just stays stuck to the floor.Has anyone encountered anything like this in our gen models or any other models?am i up for a new clutch?any info would be an awesome help. |

by XoN on 23-12-11 07:58 AM The clutch is hydraulic, so you've got a leak somewhere in the system, most likely in the hose that goes from the solid lines at the firewall to the slave cylinder.

by Jeremy on 23-12-11 11:04 AM I had a similar issue in my previous gen3 rx. Mechanic found the master cylinder was passing and a new seal kit was fitted. But you may be a different issue of course. |

by cam1754 on 23-12-11 06:50 PM Thanks guys.at first I thought it may have been the spring that returns the pedal to its original position but it's def not that.

by XoN on 23-12-11 09:41 PM If you fill up the master cylinder you could probably drive it to the mechanic ok. It won't work 100% but at least you can limp it up there. |
